Just to clear a few things up: This run was livestreamed, hence the commentary throughout. This run is timed using the in-game timer, added up and compared with the old run to see how far ahead/behind I am overall. The far right column "PB%" means the approximate odds that the run would be a PB at that moment in time. The old WR was only a quarter of a second slower, but was from February 2020 and I had done a LOT of attempts in that time, hence why I was so relieved to finally get a record despite how small it was. The knockdown on Mr. Sandman was intentional, as when you get up, he does his triple uppercut pattern that allows you to damage him much faster than normal.
  • “finally landing plays” And that’s where the records stand today. And that record holder is… me

This dude got no Don 2 stars and then hit every frame-perfect punch on Tyson. Legend.
  • Hearing someone who is known for his gentle and relaxing video essays pop off is so cathartic. Good shit man
  • @Kosmicd12
Wow nice .25 improvement! Such a hard game to have everything come together

this man literally holds EVERY WORLD RECORD for mtpo at the moment (other than single-segment highscore because that only has 2 runs). it's both incredibly humbling and kind of insane that he always makes videos about other peoples' accomplishments when his own are nearly on the same level

A legend reminds us why he’s on the throne in the first place.

To this day, Salt's record still stands. His two years of training led up to a record which still holds, 1 day later. Who knows when the infamous sub 14:50 will be broken? One thing we can be sure is, wherever the Punch-Out speedrun goes, Salt will be met with strong competition to defend his title. Thanks for watching.

("We're Finally Landing" plays in the background) "...And this is where record stands today" When you are so dedicated to making well prepared document you actually contribute to the leaderboard yourself. I'm speechless.
  • @lanewalp8727
he’s 20 SECONDS ahead of second place😭😭😭 what a guy
  • Speedrunners in 2014: "How could someone EVER get something below 2:13 on Tyson?????" Salt in 2022: *two 2:08s in a row*

The fact that you’re still destroying this game while making gorgeously produced documentaries about other runs is really inspiring. Amazing man.
  • Hearing you swear at the end had a similar feeling of when your parents get comfortable swearing around you cause you’re a adult not
  • @kay_sou
And then, Summoning Salt got this run.

Congrats Salt! Holding any% AND blindfolded record at the same time, all within a month! Legendary.

you upload this AS IM REWATCHING THE MATT TURK VIDEO this is a sign from the universe
  • Waiting for a bit flip that produces a sub 42 Glass Joe one day. Imagine the pressure you'd have during the rest of the run
  • @dalistrata4
What a phenomenal run. Still, the potential timesaves are absurd. This game is painful -- if you weren't such a GOAT I'd question how you handle it
  • @Hyakurai84
You're the man, Salt. It would be so cool if you did something together with Zallard1 and/or Sinister1 in a GDQ one day.
