I just realised something XC1, the progenitor - Monado is used for Creation (In story, recreation) XC2, the sequel - Aegis/Holy Grail is used for Manipulation (In story, saving the dying world, prolonging its existence) XC3, the finalle - Lucky 7 is used for Destruction (In story, ending the endless now and letting both worlds be eradicated so the worlds can be reborn) Like holy shit
  • But the Aegis Swords and Monado are the same. The only difference is that one world was made entirely of ether, whilst the other one wasn't. The difference in Foresight is that in XC1 the Monado calculates the position of every bit of ether in the universe and displays the results in the form of a vision, whilst in XC2 it's Mythra doing the calculations so to speak, not the sword; Alvis wasn't awakened as a Blade, hence he could create his own body using the Conduit. The Monado is a by product of that. When Mythra sees 500 years into the future, it's when she's tapped into her power as a processor, rather than an awakened Blade, thus placing her power level on the same tier as Alvis. Again, the only differences between the two are that Alvis is effectively in charge of his own custom minecraft server whilst Pneuma is a resident within a preset one. Thinking about it this way, all the authentic Monados we see in XC1 are Alvis', and the "Gods" are like his Drivers. They can use the powers of the weapons on their own, but as seen with Shulk's Monado (the III) it's similar to Mythra's in the sense that its full power could only be unlocked through the combined might of "Driver and Blade". As for Lucky Seven, in its base form it's a hunk of Origin metal. Substances can cut through stuff if it's made of the same thing because the strength is the same. The crazy powers come from the same source as Moebius' powers; the will of the people. Origin is the source of the current collective unconscious, and it's collective will to survive was brought to fruition through the metal, creating Z. Lucky Seven is independant, and thus the only will influencing it is Noah, so all it's powers come from him. It's only as strong as him. The Sword of Origin was created effectively by Melia, and Ouroboros from Nia. The two came together to create a pair of powers that act similar to the Driver and Blade principle, potentially alluding to the fact that Lucky Seven/The Sword of Origin/the End is a Monado or Replica of some kind. It even uses Monado art symbols and looks like Monado II. Replica Monados are powerful, as we've seen. They can do everything a regular one can; they're both artificial machines used to measure and manipulate ether. The only difference is that the authentic ones were created by a Processor created from the Conduit, like the Artifices, whilst the Replicas are made by beings of significantly less precision and intellect, despite being Machina etc. There's no reason a Replica couldn't be as strong. If you need proof, Shulk's REX+ created a version of the Hilbert Effect, which was already displayed in base game in the form of Monado Enchant and Apocrypha. Back to Lucky Seven/The Sword of ... It's powerful enough to rend the two worlds from one another and restart time. There's no reason a Monado couldn't do that. Now if we're talking power level, Noah's Sword is inherently the strongest because it has no "Blade" tied to the Conduit. If I were ot hazard a guess as to what Origin metal actually is? Broken fragments of the world tree and artifices that absorbed or still contained power from the Conduit. Hence, its power comes directly from the collective unconscious (if we're assuming the Conduit and Zohar are identical in function and the Wave Existence is a thing).

Monolith really knows how to make some clean legendary weapons for Xenoblade huh...
  • @KAKATCam
Malos’s sword is just too clean to pass up. I love the transformation and sleek design that gives it such a harsh aura. Every time I saw it I was left with wanting more. A close second would be N’s sword. What can I say, I like villain weapons.
  • @nickhoude21
I think Ontos's Monado/Monado III and Pneuma's sword have essentially the same power. Alvis states that the Monado allows its wielder to manipulate the Ether in the air to make their desire reality, and though its never pushed to the same limit as the Monado, the third Aegis sword, as Pneuma puts it, lets them rewrite the physical laws of their surroundings, Jin also says in the cutscene after his final fight, "The power to manifest what you imagine" suggesting that it is essentially the same power as the Monado. Also, I don't think we ever see the third Aegis sword at its limit, as even after the final Jin fight or the final Malos fight, Rex and Pneuma aren't even winded, it's likely the only thing holding them back is their own imagination
  • Onto's Monado: Lets you rewrite the universe Lucky seven: Cuts through anything Aegis sword: Lets you bask in the glory of harem
  • @mattentsu3227
Couple notable things to consider; 1 being Lucky 7’s speed is astronomical since in can slash at tachyon speed (only particle faster than light). With Pnuema I’m confident she’s far more powerful than shown considering since they suggest her ether manipulation has a larger scale. Personally I’d pick either Shulk or Malos’ monado tho.
  • @Hadaron
The Monado and Lucky Seven are really cool parallels to one another. It’s not a perfect analogy, but you could technically call the worlds of XBC1 and 3 simulations being ran by higher powers. The Monado is a sword made of the “code”, so to speak, of the world. Ontos and Klaus were two of three beings to be from outside the “simulation”, meaning that their swords could truly be used to rewrite the world. Meanwhile, the Sword of Origin was made from, well, Origin. It’s basically the only “real” metal inside the simulation and, as such, can cut through it. And they look completely opposite, as one is a technological laser sword and the other is a seemingly bland sword. (Also, fun fact that I didn’t catch until recently: Shulk backwards is Kluhs, remarkably similar to Klaus. They were planting the plot seeds from the very start.) Also yooooo the Unpainted in the outro got me hyped
  • @moorzaube1919
One more thing for pneuma: In the cutscene in the world tree, when fighting jin, he mentions rex being able to manifest what he imagines, which while not really used in the game, is still an incredibely strong aspect.
  • @TheMalioman
11:26 You never see world creation or destruction from Rex' Monado because for 1, he didn't need to, and 2 the world of Alrest isn't made entirely out of ether like Xenoblade 1's world so they'd have to use the conduit/zohar (which they don't have anymore) to create another big bang wiping out everyone for this to happen. Alvis/Ontos can create/destroy, and manipulate any part of that world at will because it's all ether and nothing more. The new world being made was Shulk's decision, but it wasn't his monado's power, it was Alvis' administrative powers over the world.
  • @TheDaphinator
#Monado It is the OG blade of Xenoblade, it looks cool and slick as frick, and if its power comes from will, I think it would be a great sword for me.
  • @Lazer_Specter
While the Monado is strong the whole thing about depending on will is definitely a huge risk you take in using it. If someone can break you, you're pretty much powerless but I don't know if it matters if you know how strong the Monado is off the bat so you can still be at full power. The Aegis seems like the best for everyday life. You get a caring and loving companion that will most of the time be there for you and if your resonance is strong enough they will be able to understand you the best out of anyone in the world (at least I think so. Correct me if I'm wrong on Driver and Blade being able to share emotions) but in a fight they can be a liability because your focus will be split between opponents and your Blade. Overall the Sword of the End seems like the best weapon. It's primary limit is the user's skills with a sword and it can cut anything. Plus if it comes with the sheathe that Noah has, free defensive gauntlet that you look cool as heck using and no worries about storage since you summon it with an Iris. So, as much as recency bias may be affecting my judgement, I'll be choosing the Sword of the End. Great video btw.
  • @ryr4242
the editing on this video is so well done, the sound balancing is really clean, not to mention the sick intro. super high quality, excited to see more stuff from you!
  • @rikmetz4720
I would go with aegis, because you'll always have someon by your side. This gives me more confidence. But nia and jin being flesh eaters also are really powerfull. Nia's healing powers make you nearly immortal and jin is able to fight with high power.
  • @Leroy._.
Great video! I gotta go with the #Monado, its ability to see the future and the different Monado Arts make it the strongest weapon. It also has an amazing design, the kanji glowing up in the multi-layered glass based on the Monado Art is also way too sick. The way the Monado opens up and closes is also raw af. I'm also so glad that the Monado I is the Monado that Alvis uses in the DLC, it fits him perfectly.
  • @angeldude101
You basically have to choose between a god, 1 of 2.5 angels, or a really, really sharp sword. Like, it's really sharp, dude. (So sharp it can literally cut through time!) Love how trying to talk compare these swords ends up leading to character analysis and one's cooking skills. Because that's what happens when the sword in question isn't actually an "it," but instead a "she" (technically a "they"). Personally, I don't care for fighting, so I don't really need a sword, so I'll take the one that's not just a weapon: #Aegis.

Since Alvis is also an Aegis I guess it’s just who’s the strongest sibling between Pneuma, Malos and Alvis along with lucky seven
