hi hi - I used Paula's Choice 1% Clinical Retinol Treatment on my acne scars for 30 days. Here's how it went! I don't know that I saw any improvements in fine lines (or more likely surface dryness) or acne scarring over these 30 days, but I definitely noticed an improvement in my skin clarity, softness and how quickly my breakouts (mainly purging) went away. I hope this is helpful for some of you who have been interested in how retinol affects acne and acne scarring. I am still using this product, and I know that over the counter (OTC) retinols take longer (3-6 months) to show proper results, so I might make an updated review in that time to let you guys know of any major improvements!

Thanks so much for watching! :)

  • Good on you starting so early. When I was in my early 20s I had no idea what skincare was and did some Neutrogena, Clearasil, which made things so much worse then did the apricot scrub and that was my skincare. I never moisturized because I thought I was oily and I never did sunscreen because I tanned so well. So....good on you. Now I've been using Paula's choice for 2 years and came across your video just now. It's still cool to see such good results.

Hi you should be using differin. Years ago, in the states, it was only available by prescription and now you can get it over the counter. Differin will help acne and scars. I used it in my teens and 20’s. I’m 38 now and I used retinol for fine lines.
  • Do you know how many pumps are in a bottle? I am trying to work out how cost effective it will be :)

Maybe a tip? I was told by an aesthetician to put retinol on first—before any other treatments—and let it soak in before putting on moisturizer.
  • Do you still use this? And what’s your opinion now after one year?

Im a male and I use this retinol like it's a moisturizer 😄 every night and never had any reaction.. it's been 2 weeks now.. I noticed my skin gets brighter and smooth

I also use this retinol and it really helps red spots from acne. It's worth the price in my opinion. I use it every evening and my skin loves it. I sometimes buffer it in with a lotion and it still works just as well.

I've used Differin before and Retinaldehyde too . Geek&Gorgeous , Naturium , Avene , MadAboutSkin all do Retinal .
  • Hi Brianna I saw this video and saw your video about the ordinary peeling solution I have sensitive skin which one would you recommend ?
  • @artistevivien
My skin peeled after I used it so I stopped for a week… heard this was normal and that I should keep using it but it seriously stings.

Does anyone have any idea how long 1 bottle lasts if used every night?
  • I have an acne scar and after i left it on overnight yesterday i woke up and the scar was alot smaller..not sure what happened but it's for sure working if this is just day 1. I actually just asked for a small sample at Sephora so I could try it for free

You started off with too strong. I would recommend trying 1x per week for a couple months.

Wow i think your acne scars became almost unnoticable now i’ve seen your review videos but what specific product u think it helped most with your scars?
  • @auauauanz123
Panoxyl cream (Benzoyl Peroxide) works so well on my acne and it leaves no scarring until it was no longer found in the market over 10 years ago. Now, I'd have to buy all these resurfacing/peeling services or products that I can't afford to help with my "craters". What a billion dollar industry. Thanks to acne 💔😂

It looks like you would do better with the retinol booster not the cream. The booster is for oily skin
