As a introvert with social anxiety, I can say that this is a big challenge for me.

How are 30% of people not afraid of public speaking???
  • @tougy1318
Her voice gives me more anxiety than public speaking alone... thanks I guess

I used to suffer from public speaking anxiety A LOT, beacuse I didn't get the cause of it. I tried all sorts of techniques and strategies, but it all turned out to be useless. Then I understood (thanks to a few video that brought me to my personal conclusion) that at the root of that gigantic fear was low self-confidence. Indeed, the fear exists beacuse especially nowdays, with social medias that make us confront with others, we tend value too much what other people think about us, instead of caring what we actually want and what makes us feel good. Therefore, my personal advice would be to start putting more value on yourselves, by repeating out loud positive affirmations and start working on whatever you feel affects you to the point that you feel bad. Another advice would be that whenever you feel you're giving too much importance to someone's opinion, acknowledge that you're giving value to what someone that judges you for no reason at all thinks, so he/she is not your friend nor anyone you should care about, and back yourself up. This would be my advice, I hope it helps some of you. Have a great day.

My personal tip is : Try to make such a great presentation and speech that you just cannot wait to tell everyone.

Tips from me... 1. Think that you are controlling the whole room while presenting... 2. Know that everybody else have to present as well and they are nervous too... 3. Just know that your speech is going to end soon and it will be over and then you will be free... 4. Focus or look on one person at a time especially look at someone who is not paying attention to you.... hope they work for you cuz they work for me goodluck

As a person who has a severe fear of public speaking where I had literally puke in front of everyone and cry which made my teacher have to pull me out to comfort me and call my mom. This video made me slightly confident and actually improved a little of my stuttering speeches. It's hard, but it's a progress

I have to give a speech in front of half of my school, but I have anxiety. My teacher has put a lot of hope into me. I'm not the best English speaker in front of hundereds and stutter very often and keep shivering when nervous. This video really helped me know what to do and what not to do, Thanks!

Who else has a presentation tomorrow? 😅 (Edit: It’s been 4 years and I still get likes and comments from this. Honestly, I don’t remember any of the presentations I did in school lol. That just shows you that it isn’t that big of deal. You’ll be fine 🙏. You can do it!)

All the voice changing is giving me an odd sense of anxiety and I don’t like it
  • @dangggnat
Is it me orrr... Every time I do a presentation my voice SHAKES!
  • I have a lifechanging tip if you have this fear: Don't just "get through" a speech. Be the light that inspires your crowd, you have the chance to really CHANGE a group. If it helps, talk about your feelings from the start to make you feel less like you are hiding, but breathe in confidence. Nearly every person in this crowd is afraid to get up there, and you went far enough to actually do it. Fears are only challenges for us to conquer, not chains to hold us back. Always stand up for what you believe in. Even if no one sides with that opinion, your energy alone will inspire someone. Changing your perspective on public speaking will transform the fear into strength. Mediation is VERY helpful too.

I’m currently taking a required speech class (due to a program I’m in) as a high school student with extremely bad anxiety, and our teacher is making us do impromptu speeches every class for the next six classes. We get five minutes to come up with a one minute speech about a specific topic/question she presents on the screen. Today was the first one we had to do, and the paper was shaking so bad in my hands that you could hear it rattling and I was even having trouble reading the words. It’s extra frustrating because the teacher doesn’t even give us any time to prepare for our speech. I don’t know what to do, I have my next speech class in two days and every time I even think about presenting again, I feel like I’m going to cry. I want to talk to my teacher, or even the school counselor, about it, but I feel like they wouldn’t be able to do anything or help at all, and I’m worried my teacher may even get frustrated at me because the whole point of speech class is to get better at public speaking. I also think that’s kind of dumb, though, because as someone who’s had horrible anxiety since childhood (and may have an anxiety disorder) presenting in front of the class isn’t going to help. All it’s going to do is make things worse. If presenting did help me get over my fear, I would be over it by now, because I’ve given my fair share of speeches. Anyways, sorry for rambling on, does anybody have any tips?
