Love how the kid is angry at Max for “disrespecting his family” when he was literally making fun of Max’s wife getting killed just seconds earlier
-
Max Payne 3 is proof that a movie-like videogame is still possible without killing the gameplay
-
I like how Max stares the kid straight in the eyes while he has a gun pointed at him like “bro you ain’t bout that life” 😂

I like this scene. Max Payne's reflexes are canonically fast, almost to a superhuman extent. He could have wasted all three of those pricks as soon as Tony reached for his gun, but he didn't. I like this because:
1. Max was considering just letting Tony blow his brains out to put him out of his misery
2. Max is so horrendously overexposed to conflict, danger and violence that some guy waving a gun in his face isn't enough to elicit a response from him. But pistol-whipping a woman in the face? Yeah, that'll do it -
One of my all time FAVORITE cut-scenes of any game. Rockstar is amazing.

4:56 I'm not a violent person, but shooting that douchebag was one of the most satisfying kills in video game history. It wouldn't have worked without Max Payne 1 and 2 before it. Mark of great writing.

"I ain't gonna take nothing from him that God hasn't already deprived him of!" Such a sad line, but my favourite nonetheless.

Goshdamn 😞 RIP James McCaffery

I love Passos first line. "Put the gun down, son."
-
2:17 I love how he’s so indifferent, dude doesn’t care if he dies or not
-
Dan Houser's script is extremely well-written that it really feels like I'm watching a movie! I love it!!
-
I love how Rockstar gave us a taste of the classic Max Payne for a bit in this game.

I love how Passos buys him a drink and later on offers rounds to some lady while saying Max is buying.

The way he drunkenly tries to grab her arm is great -
there’s something about the line “fuck you asshole, no dick asshole” and the way it comes from a character who hadn’t said a word in this cutscene up until that point that just kills me every time

The gaming genre as a whole could use more noire story telling. This game was, is, and always will be great to me.

“I don’t know why I did it. I guess I never liked seeing girls get hit, but from that moment I was dead in that town”
-
I love how this game is one big love letter to Tony Scott’s Man on Fire. The crazy editing/filters, the key words and sentences being subtitled and the alcoholic bodyguard gone rogue with nothing to lose in a foreign land. Perfection.

Goodbye, James McCaffrey! 😢
"A bit closer to heaven..."
