All of the gamemodes Counter Strike has that you've never seen because they've been hidden away behind the community server browser.

“Apart from Frankie” That was such an unexpected throwback.

A small correction for 01:14: The huge message there is actually the rules, first option means "Yes, I have read it and accept" and the second is the opposite. When you got kicked from the server, it was because you did not choose any option, or you accidentally pressed "2" to switch weapons after you shot. The kick message says "You did not accept our rules."

    "apart from frankie" nice lol

I also really enjoyed deathrun maps where CTs need to reach the end of a parcours while terrorists trigger deadly traps to hinder the CTs from reaching their goal
  • I've spend many many nights on those surf servers, would be really cool to see them get more popular again without too many plugins

Zombie Escape for life! Literally, as I've dedicated about 11 years of my life to this mode already 😄 it would be great to see it officially supported one day, but I hope that Valve, at that point, keeps the many options and customizeable plugins and stuff open for community servers to keep exploring with. They would basically have to 'hire' or at least consult the biggest server owners and regulars to get a good insight in what makes Zombie Escape so fun! Thanks for bringing it up in the video 😉

Honestly Surf Deathmatch is another underrated one. Imagine moving at lightspeed, whilst scoping with an awp to shoot other people moving at light speed. Its also surprisingly easy because its difficult for people to change their direction in mid-air or on a surf ramp, so shots like that are really consistent. Or sneaking up behind people with a shotgun in mid-air near the speed ramps I remember absolutely dominating in surf ski nova, its just this limiteless perpetual surf playground of sorts with the occasional speed ramp.

3:28 "No player can really use it to get a speed advantage anymore, apart from Frenkie" Now that's a blast from the past

I love the SLIDE game mode. Basically surf but on a flat surface. Very interesting, played it a lot in CS:S! :D

There's no need to surf, bhop etc to become official because Valve has already okayed Momentum Mod which will hopefully be the officially unofficial one stop shop for all movement related gamemodes.

Jailbreak was awesome. Sometimes you spawned into a cell where you could break the wall and hide to get into the weapon chambers. When you started shooting chaos erupted and the other prisoners tried to get their chance. If it failed, some of the prisoners had to go into a gas chamber. The nice part about this game mode are the creative games in the map that you had to win in order to survive while it was intense to maintain the order as a policeman.

Does anyone remember Deathrun? I swear I spent more time playing that than regular CS:S.

As a KZ dev, I'm glad to see the game mode mentioned <3 Sadly it's the least popular one out of the movement trio due to its very high skill floor, or as you said it, witchcraft. But at least we are the only one with a central global database connecting many hundred servers together, so I think that's kinda cool.

I'm honored that you showcased my surf_rookie when talking about surf-mode in Counter-Strike. I really appreciate it :-)

I really love watching SoadY1911's zombie escape videos. It struck me when he stopped making videos 4 years ago, but now he's returned, I can see how the zombie escape servers are evolving in the current years.

Jail Break is so nostalgic for me. I used to spend dozens of hours goofing around with other people. I get it why someone wouldn't like it, though. It is quite bizarre, especially when you don't know the players.

The best part is becoming a regular on a custom server and making friends with the other regulars. Some of the best friendships I've ever made started on CS:S Zombie Run maps, and then into Garry's Mod TTT and Deathrun... Those were the days.
  • @TheMisterEpic
Great video! I personally think the custom community has changed since I was active in it during 2015-2017, with them feeling a lot more lifeless today. Also, not sure if this was an Australian thing, but combat surf was super popular here, even more so then standard surf. Death run also was popular for a while during 2016, but has since faded into nothing and I haven't seen a server running it in yeats
