I bought an above ground pool a couple years ago but we didn’t use it because we bought a hot tub. My husband cleaned out the garage and took the box the pool was in and we offered it to our neighbors who have kids. The little girl waved at my husband and said….Hello neighbor! Thank you for the pool! I’m glad it got put to use.

The key to pool maintenance is Saltwater. Use a saltwater generator to chlorinate the pool. Sooooo much easier. Also a sand filter not that cartridge system. That size pool you would need about 80lbs of pool salt and the Intex Chlorine generator. Look into it, so much easier to keep clean and water crystal clear.

OK, I'll chime in . 1984, I'd been living in my new house for 3 years. It is in a small subdivision that was a cornfield. NO SHADE. I needed something. Found an old pool free if I removed. It took me about 6 hours to put everything in my puckup. Working afternoon shift I'd come home and dig until sunrise then sleep. Just befor heading into work I'd take a quick look at my effort in broad daylight. It took me 2 weeks to dig the hole and manicure the bottom and edge. I bought a 24 foot by 6 foot liner for it. So I dug 2-1/2 feet down 20 feet across and tapered the edge up to the Aluminum pool wall. I hand piled dirt up around the edge to get the height. The finished size was a full 7-1/2 feet deep across 20 feet at the bottom. I figured 20,000 gallons and it took my well 2 full days to fill. For many many years we used that pool. I took the best care using liquid chlorine and muriatic acid. I restored the otiginal diatomaceous earth filter and it worked flawlessly. I ran 10 gallons/ min thru 900 feet of Black plastic tube on the roof of my pole barn for solar heat. It provided +10°F to the temp. Research Cyanuric Acid to keep the chlorine from evaporating so quickly. A solar cover helped keep it warm. I found 85°F was my favorite temp and I maintained it pretty well. l hav a e mail at yah oo moparbens@ it . com if you'd care to converse. ben/ michigan

As another super pregnant mama (I’m just a few weeks from my due date now!) a pool like that would be soooooo nice!!!! It will definitely help as you get bigger and baby weighs more on your back! Congratulations and prayers for a safe and happy healthy pregnancy! 🥰💕

Best part of this project is this cute couple doing it together and having so much fun!

Just drill a hole in the bottom of the lights 😬 I done it to mine because I’d got new ones, and they had holes in the bottom 😊 now they don’t fill with water 👍

We have the same pool, and we live in the Netherlands. It's nice to see y'all building a wall around it. We keep it as it is, while being jealous looking at your woodwork.

Pools are the best investment for fun and relaxing at home. Still trying to talk my daughter and her husband that I live with to get one so my two grand children can enjoy it as well as them. You won't be sorry.

Congrats on your new addition!! Please be careful lifting heavy things. I did the same with my first and ended up in hospital.

Putting a corner tarp or an umbrella somewhere so you can always choose to get out of the Sun but still be in the water that's called having your cake and eating it too 2😅❤
-
Get a sand filter as soon as you can afford it - they are amazing for keeping it clean.

The baby in tummy is singing Elvis song I’m all Shook Up after the gravel compacter 😂

Mama Molly was right! A pool in Alabama during the hot months is a joy! Papa Dylan will enjoy it, too! 👍👏✨😍

We just put foam on top of our level ground and it works wonderfully!

Even if you had used a weed barrier, the wind blows seeds onto the gravel so the weeds will still grow.

One of the best investments I ever made was buying a pool. We were the only ones that had one, so of course everyone wanted to be at our house. We told my youngest daughter that was 5, that she had to help get the yard ready and remove the sod… my baby went out there in her rainboots, tank top and shorts dragging her Daddy’s shovel. She wanted that pool! Haha! She didn’t know we had installers coming to do everything. It was the cutest thing to watch her! 😉

My son and daughter-in-law bought an above ground pool and have enjoyed it for several years. Their kids love it as well as nieces and nephews. We have a lot of hot, steamy days in Iowa and they said they love getting home from work and jumping in the pool. The local firemen will fill the pool in their area.

You go girl❣️. I can hardly wait to see you floating in the pool with a cool drink! 😎🇨🇦

We also have this kind of pool. We were thinking about getting a pool, and I first thought about something really solid, rather big, with stairs into the pool, with a roof on top. I found a website with a configurator and ended up with a price tag of 30000+€😑 So we got this type of pool. Much cheaper, but does the job. If it lasts five years, then it really wasn't expensive. I got a pool cleaning robot, very convenient. The robot is just dropped in the pool, and runs for about an hour. If the battery is drained, it stops at a wall for easy pickup.
