No matter what he does or what universe he's in, every time Spider-Man wins, Peter Parker loses...
  • @mrgold1760
Writers try not to torture Peter challenge (impossible)
  • For those of you wondering, the bad guy here is Mourlun and he's a interdimensional Spider-Man hunter that kills Spider-Man in various alternate universes.
  • The amount of times the superhero community has let spiderman get his ass beat across New York is wild and this one doesn't even want to destroy NY, it just wants spidermans ass 💀

Peter: can i let this one slide? Uncle Ben: I hope the fuck you don't.
  • @KyleGK01
Peter needs some rest, he deserves it

The other heroes be like: “y’all hear screaming, cause I don’t!” ‘Turns up party music’

I remember reading this as a kid and feeling actual fear for Spider-Man , the writing for this comic just hit different.

Spider-Man: I need help, I'm tired, I've been fighting for 12 hours straight Superhero community: No...let him suffer, it will be good for his PR
  • @Wellshem
Meanwhile the Avengers are smoking weed at the Avenger Tower, few blocks north from here
  • @CDNBreadDogs
"Can I let him be someone else's problem?" The one time Peter kinda wanted the enemy to be someone else's problem, it was an enemy who specifically wanted him
  • @dragonspadeex
Spider man: You know what...that's it. "Pulls out phone" Daredevil: Yo? Spiderman: I need a favor. A big one. Daredevil: Say no more, I'll grab Punisher and head out.

Clearly everyone watching this has never read the actual comic. It's the Coming Home arc and the reason no-one else is helping Spider-Man is because Morlun timed it perfectly. He's in the city for a good few weeks before he reveals himself to Peter, he made sure that the heavy hitters were all preoccupied before going in for the kill. In this exact scene, moments before he says he's tired, he tries to call the Avengers and the FF. The Avengers are off-planet and the FF are in another dimension, Peter's literally the only guy capable of taking Morlun on. Characters like Daredevil, Punisher, Moon Knight etc aren't doing jack shit against a force like Morlun. Moments after Peter fails to reach any help, he uses his last few quarters to call Aunt May and tell her he loves her. He thinks he's going to die and he says he doesn't say it often enough, that no matter what happens to him, he'll always love her. The call cuts out, Peter's out of money and he can hear the police sirens starting up again. It's an amazing moment. His body's shaking, he doesn't know if it's adrenaline, fatigue or fear but he can't walk away. He walked away once and it cost him one of the biggest mistakes of his life. I have the hardcover, only one I own. I go back and read it every now and then, because it perfectly encapsulates the character of Peter Parker. His back's against the wall this entire story and he never once stops. He falters, he hits the floor, he almost buckles under the weight of it all but he always gets back up swinging. He's amazing. He's spectacular. He's your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Bully Maguire: "I missed the part where that's my problem"
  • It’s New York and Spider-Man has been getting his ass whooped for 12 hours. And no other super hero has tried to help? The Fantastic Four? The Defenders? Hell, The Avengers??? I get that when Peter goes through hell, his character shines. But no way Spider-Man is fighting this guy alone for so long
  • @elvhaa
this specific fight with spider-man really showed us his human side then his superhero side. He’s still a kid trying to figure out what he wants to do and wants to be for the rest of his life while having the lives of millions weigh on his shoulders, truly a motivational and inspirational figure
  • @Cafearmuire
For those who wonder, Spider man can't truly escape cause Morlun can find him wherever he goes. Plus, even if Spidey outrun him, Morlun just has to threaten civilians loud enough for Spidey moral code makes him come back.

Spiderman is one of those people who really deserve the best things in life because they are the ones trying to make it better for everyone else.
