Thanks Ali for the video. Do you have any tips for Part 2 reading? The diagrams I practiced today had so much information in them (no picture, just a table with 4 slots) and there were detailed questions of each. I couldnā€™t finish it all in the given time šŸ˜¢

Hey, I appreciate the tips! Just got my test results: 11 Listening, 12 Reading, 11 Writing, 11 Speaking; and I have to say, these videos do help a lot. This was my first CELPIP General sitting. I took IELTS two years ago, and I didn't do so well at the time (overall score 7, which kinda converts to a CLB 8), even though my level of proficiency hasn't really changed since then. I've been a solid CEFR C1 for at least six years. The thing is - I didn't really put in the work to familiarize myself with the IELTS test format, or at least my efforts weren''t enough (but, frankly, I think it's a harder format), so I missed a bunch of points for not knowing what to expect next (especially in the Listening part, which is crucial for the overall band score). It's the little things, like knowing which tasks are worth taking notes for - and I'm not only talking about paper notes, but also mental ones. Also, tbh, I had a hard time concentrating during IELTS because of all the different English accents. On CELPIP, I think I might have heard an Australian accent in one of the tasks, but that's it; you hear mostly North American. I think that, like me, most people living in Canada will prefer hearing a story in the good old American/Canadian accent to better understand the message. Bottom line is: I don't know what the bottom line is, just wanted to share my experience with both tests šŸ™‚

Hi Ali.. do you they provide you writing materials when doing the notes on the listening part or do i need to bring my own pen and paper? Or perhaps, do you use the computer to take notes (like sticky notes or something)?šŸ˜Š
