This is a great idea! I’m often boondocking near a lake or river and refilling from those sources would definitely help extend my trip or comfort being able to shower more often. I already have an APEC residential reverse osmosis filter in my van so the main thing is to get water to be safe enough to put into my 30 gallon storage tank. The Guzzle would have been great except for the cost, and I’m not super keen on the idea of having live protozoa in the water even if their DNA is scrambled! However, this has given me an idea to get a Lifestraw type filter which can filter out protozoa, with an electric pump to do the filtering. Slow but as long as it can run unattended that’s fine.

Very informative video! What a nice spot there by the river!

My situation, I need to go with the RO and next I look for the value of RO unit RELIABILITY. So the Itehil ..., I've not heard anyone complain. I know if I go to the forums and/or Amazon comments, too many hyping, too many comments laid in there attempting to lure you to a different piece of equipment. BTW, I've never trusted UV systems. I've always said 'I can't see the dead' - now you tell me they're still in there, squiggling. Literally hard to swallow LoL
  • I believe there is a 12v charging option for the guzzle stream. Just have to buy it separately (again, I believe)
