I met Flip Wilson on the fishing boat Miss Chris in Cape May, NJ. I believe it was like 79'. Super nice man. I was a 15 year old white kid and he took time to talk to me. He was genuinely interested in a white kid who loved his show. Hard to explain but he really put you at ease. Fun to be around. Grest memory.

In the 70’s, I was a teenager in a middle class white family and we LOVED The Flip Wilson Show. We loved his character Geraldine. Flip will be happy to know we never thought anything more than that he was playing a character for comedy.

It's not about talent. it's about what you're willing to do for fame and fortune. People don't win awards (Grammys & Oscar's, etc). For a job well done. They win these awards based on the nastiest things they're willing to do.

As a child and teenager , I enjoyed watching Flip Wilson Show. He was very funny!! When I reached my 30's is when I questioned his sexuality. Thank you for clearing this up that Flip was straight, but Hollywood would only let him have a show if he played it as a woman. Such a disgusting stranglehold Hollywood has on actors.
