It's always a pleasure to hear OTW's opinion of the industry along with yours, David. A little over a year ago I was lucky to be able to turn on a computer. Now I can say I understand more than the average user. There is still a long long way to go for me to get where I want to be! Please keep producing amazing information and references!! It's always a pleasure to hear you two speak
  • @CyberNancy
I recommend The Cuckoo’s Egg. Not a hacking book per se, but a story about hacking, whose lessons ring true - over 30 years later.
  • @wavemakersdj
Huge fan of the "Hack like a..." series. It's not in depth of how to do each section that's covered, but it's great to get the mind thinking about ways things are done.
  • Most of the books recommended on this video are basic to mid level books. Can you make a episode about advanced level hacking books/courses or platforms? It will help us a lot.. BTW it was a excellent episode. I think this video is enough to make dictions about buying hacking books for beginners. Thanks man, thanks a lot....👌
  • @SunDevilThor
I would love to see a part 2 video with all of the comment suggestions. Y’all should have included Open Source Intelligence Techniques (9th edition) by Michael Bazzell. I’m only 3 chapters in and it’s phenomenal. OSINT is a good sub-genre of hacking.
  • @hm-jr4ok
Love all the series with OccupyTheWeb, He is great. Continue making those.
  • @Tantow
As a total know-nothing beginner as of September I've read Pentesting Blueprint. Today is my last chapter of Linux Basics for Hackers and I'm hoping to dive into Black Hat Python and then maybe I can say I know a little something to start something.
  • The three years I invested in the university are all useless, am finding your channel a great resource and am starting afresh. Thanks this is great work 🙏
  • Starting with a knowledge of absolutely zero studying for the security+ this channel has helped quite a bit
  • @sir6693
If OTW says it's good, go for it! His book "Linux Basics for Hackers" is so simple and easy to understand that I would have all people that publish books go thru him for review first!
  • @dastaan.
    Always informative & inspiring 👏🏻
  • @nickybesters
I believe it was OTW that recommended the Nicole Perlroth book, "This is How They Tell Me the World Ends" which I've finished and I must say it was a true eye-opener, for sure! So many links in there to PDF reports, YT videos and what have you, wish I could get hold of the PDF version to copy and paste those links! Thanks to David and OTW for this awesome insight and keep up the good work ;-)
  • @AshleyEhSMR
Creepy… I was just searching books of such topics this week. You cyber security professionals always make a new video with the answers to my immediate curiosity within 24 hours. Every. Single. Time. For months now lol. 🎉no complaints here Shoutout to your video editor. The cuts are excellent and I’ve never been mindfully aware because of the seemless professionalism in your content, but thought I’d mention it, as it’s appreciated and can recognize the amount of work that goes into it. ✌️
  • Great video as usual guys. As for recommendations how about some content on the defense side of the game. Such as hyperjacking prevention, detection and reclamation. Or kernel hardening and firewall best practices. Threat detection and system scanning for compromise I'm sure would keep folks glued to the screen.
  • always love to see inspiration video from David, he asked the question what we are thinking as beginner in this field , that's why we love to see David, lots of love from Pakistan.
  • @bmbiz
I like Ethical Hacking. Recent (2021) and goes beyond just beginner level stuff. Covers some things I haven't seen covered in other books (and I have a ton of 'em). No Starch Press...of course! Edit: author is Daniel G. Graham.
  • @JR-ey3oo
Thanks David for continuing to deliver great content and helping me further my knowledge!
  • here's a tip to anyone who wants to learn cybersecurity: 1)the book recommandations wont work. 2) u need to apply for a course in cybersecurity in a reputed college or online course. yours truly by some random person who wasted 2 years by watching utube videos in a hope to get any free learning:)
  • @Dimlutube
I'd definitely recommend "Phishing Dark Waters: The Offensive and Defensive Sides of Malicious Emails". It's an easy read with super info!
