Shapiro and Kelly would each alienate pro-Palestine voters - big big problem! Shapiro is a Jew of course and staunchly pro-Israel. Kelly has a Jewish wife and was noted and slammed for enthusiastically clapping Netanyahu's jibe about pro-Palestine protesters being "Iran's useful idiots". How smart of him to be seen applauding, doh! Someone should tell him diplomacy is a useful skill. Kamala does have a Jewish hubby, which may not endear her to everyone. But she gave an excellent bridge-building speech after her meeting with Netanyahu. Both her and Tim Walz are vocal advocates of a two-state Gaza solution, which can only be helpful. Walz is the only sensible and safe choice for VP. A powerful and eloquent speaker with an engaging personality too. I'm confident the VP vetting team will not overlook the Israel-Palestine sensitivity - it is SO important, especially with the body count shooting up daily. To upset pro-Palestine sentiment by adding Jewish influence to the ticket could prove disastrous for the Dems. A Shapiro or Kelly VP choice would do exactly that. Dems should not become too fixated on the idea of picking the VP from a tight swing state, even though that could clinch whichever state for them. The bigger picture is far more important, so the VP should ideally have the best overall appeal across all the swing states, not just their home state. Personally I don't care enormously about the Israel-Palestine aspect, though I hope for a peaceful outcome for all. I'm not Jewish or Arabic for instance, nor anti-semitic. However, I see it does matter greatly to some voters. The Dems need every vote they can get. Go Walz!
