Florida vs Caribbean? Why We Chose The Boca Raton Hotel Over a Caribbean Vacation

We debated going on a Caribbean vacation and ended up at The Boca Raton Hotel. We were so happy we did.

In this video we describe our experience staying at one of the best hotels in Florida. The Boca Raton Hotel gives off serious old money and Gilded Age vibes. It's so luxurious, and with 5 different hotels in 1, you never need to leave.

We break down our entire thought process, weighing the pros and cons, when deciding whether to go to the Caribbean or Boca Raton. It may seem like a crazy comparison to some, but with the beautiful beachfront, great pools, delicious dining options, and other great amenities, it's hard to beat The Boca Raton Hotel.

I would even venture to say it's not only one of the best hotels in Florida, but one of the best hotels in America.

You'll have to watch the full video, however, if you want to see our room tour and rating! Here are the chapters in case you want to skip ahead:

We stayed at The Beach Club Hotel within The Boca Raton Hotel. It's across the intercoastal from the main hotel at The Cloisters. There are also options to stay at The Tower, The Bungalows, and The Yacht Club (21+).

We loved The Beach Club given its proximity to the ocean, although we'll probably try The Cloisters next so we can stay in the heart of The Boca Raton Hotel action. It's also close to our favorite pool, harborside, complete with a lazy river and pirate ship for the kids.

  • I came to the Boca Raton as an employee when I finished College in 1981. At that time, it was largely just a Convention Hotel. That is apparently not the focus of the property now. Everything is either new, or has been renovated since my time there. I felt that the Hotel was very expensive- even at that time. But the property did pride itself on service. Working at the Front Desk and as Convention Reservations Coordinator, I remember meeting Itzhak Perlman, Polly Bergen, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, and former President Ford even came as a guest speaker.

Nice video, thank you. You mention the cost of food a few times; what were the tabs like for your family of 3. We are thinking of going this summer and wondering how much I should budget for a family of five (all kids under 10.)
