In this video, I take a deep but simplified dive into the evidence-based strategy of Task Specific Training and how to use it to improve hand function after a stroke. I cover the 5 “R’s” of Task Specific Training and give specific examples of how you can use them in your own recovery.

After watching this video, you’ll understand how to therapeutically set up activities at home so you can work on your recovery even if you don’t have access to therapy.

Hi dr. Elyse, I don't have any movement in my left arm. I always use my right hand to help my affected arm in doing my daily activities at home. Thanks for another great video. You encourage me to keep going and don't give up. I'M.. #BRAINAVMSURVIVOR #STROKESURVIVOR #NINEYEARS AND PROGRESSING

  • Great video, thank you! What I've been doing since my stroke is when I can't do a task with my affected hand, instead of switching to my strong hand, I use BOTH hands together. I'm definitely seeing progress! 💯🙏🙌
