Quantum physics could revolutionize everything… at least that’s what some news headlines would have you believing. For those with a few billion dollars to spare to invest in the next big quantum technology, there are a few things you should look out for.

If you are very rich able to invest in quantum technology - you're in a superposition....
  • @Jackiee_Chann
Damn wow , Sabine made a direct observation of Basel university paper and their wave function collapsed, revealing the new different title 🤯🤯
  • Some Quantum startups behave like Schrödinger's box, except there is no cat, no poison, no radioactive particle or detector, and when the investors finally open it, the founders have already cashed out and fled to a country in the tropics.

Step 1 put a bunch of science buzz words in a bowl Step 2 mix all the words around Step 3 pick out a few of the words Step 4 get chat gpt to explain what science you just discovered Step 5 tell everyone on tik tok that you have won a Nobel prize

This video should be sent to all of the news outlets. Not that most will listen, because they are driven by views and click revenue.

1:45 Love the random clip with Christopher Walken dancing (Fatboy Slim ft. Bootsy Collins)

Every time I read something with quantum in the title it reminds me of the sign outside the pub saying ‘Free beer tomorrow’
  • Robert Laughlin gave an interesting speech about this - "quantum computers are the perpetual motion machines of the 21st century. However, unlike perpetual motion machines, they can't do much useful, even if they can be made to work."
  • During my undergrad I read a lot of Quanta Magazine articles about quantum computing and found it interesnting and exciting, now, in my postgrad I feel that I'm reading a funding justification

Back in 1948 transistors really were significant and really did have wide application.
  • @derekgarvin6449
Excellently done. Hope this brings you the wider audience you deserve.
  • Quantum advantage is only collapsing because you keep trying to measure it.
  • @rebokfleetfoot
my Grandfather was a professor of physics, he used to say 'the usefulness of quantum physics has already been demonstrated by the universe' :)
  • @badhombre4942
Does Quantum Bullshit exist, before you step in it?
  • @MichaRabiej
One thing I would add is that "quantum advantage" is always presented based on comparison of "quantum" algorithms which compute approximate solution do difficult problems, with exponential in size of the input, classical algorithms which are "exact", but ofen there are FPTAS/PTAS (polynomial time approximations), that are polynomial, not exponential and give approximate solutions as well. Basically Quantum Info people sometimes make comparison against very conveniently chosen opponent.

it's refreshing to see a channel not afraid to have "naughty" word in the title. everyone is so worried about not appeasing the algorithm cause demonetization.
  • @t.kersten7695
and every thing in science, politics, journalism or whatsover always gets called a "quantum leap" because it sounds so futuristic and huge, despite the fact on how little of a change in a quantum stae such a leap is.
