I can’t believe they don’t mention the significance of Galadriel giving Gimli 3 strands of her hair... It goes back to the Second Age, when Feanor, an Elder Elf King asked Galadriel for a lock of her hair because it was said that her hair was so beautiful it contained the light of the two trees. Galadriel sensed a darkness and pride in his request so she denied him. He asked her two more times and each time she denied him. He went on to make the 3 silmaril stones-inspired by her hair. So she denied a Elf King 3 times but gave 3 hairs to a dwarf. Because she knew his heart was pure.

I love that they added Tauriel. There aren't many female characters in Tolkien's tales, but the ones we have are all distinct from each other and powerful in very different ways, and Tauriel just adds to that variety without taking anything away, showing that there are so many ways to be a woman just like there are so many ways to be a man. Controversy aside, I personally think she fits into this universe very very well.
  • I just love every single character in the Lord of the Rings, brilliant acting, costumes, everything, well done all 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️🌈

"I asked for one strand of hair from her golden head.... she gave me three" omg I love Gimli right now

"I asked for one strand of hair from her golden head. She gave me three." Legolas' smile is perfect because he knows what that her gift meant, because she had refused Faenor thrice.
  • All these people look better as elves than they do as humans.

“I asked her for one hair from her golden head. She gave me three.”
  • I love Tauriel and Kili. It was a doomed sweet and pure little thing, people act like it’s this horrible awful blasphemous campfest like they rode off into the sunset married with triplets. This coupling is based on compassion and innocence and kindred spirits. What else could a doomed young man ask for? He got to experience these feelings before he died and I think that’s awesome and her last scene with him was so emotional. People can hate her and the romance all they want, it doesn’t bother me because it’s a done deal, their hatred doesn’t take away what’s already on film and I’ll always have it.

11:12 "Even the last version of Photoshop can't replace a good old fashioned pencil" As a grafic designer I agree with this

I just ... cannot reconcile how buff and angry Legolas looks in the Hobbit ... I cant expect him to look as he was or as gentle as he was in LoTR ... but I simply cannot reconcile 😿

Why is nobody talking about 3:58 "Elvish, rock on!" Oh my goodness, Orlando is being adorable again 😭
  • She's so beautiful it hurts... sorry, but I could definitely see a young sheltered dwarf falling hopelessly in love with her. She's an amazing warrior with a kind heart and Kili is on a perilous journey facing death for the first time and has no idea what awaits him. The chemistry was immediate because they were the right two young open-minded people at the right place and time. I don't care what some people say, I adore these two.

"the one thing you don't want is sticking out" Warcraft Elves: are we a joke to you?

Jesus I thought the hobbit drawings at the end were done digitally. That is some serious skill.
  • @BrenLockhart
The way she says 'Tauriel', my god, she's so perfect.

"Do you think she could have loved me?" That line in the movie melted my heart. I say it often in my daily life, completely out of place and context, lol.
  • "It's nice to see the legs come through" You're absolutely right Lady, I'm glad you agree. 0:04 Orlando seems to think so too.
  • Tauriel is one of my favourite character of all, i'm so happy she made it in the movies
