1:43rd Scale model of the McFly house from Back to the Future

Published 2024-07-15
I was thrilled to create a one of a kind piece. The iconic home of Marty Mcfly, seen in all three movies.
As someone that does not live in California I based myself mostly on movie stills and photos from fans that have visited the location.
The scene I chose to create was the famous scene at the end of part one, which was also re-shot for the beginning of part two.

Even zoomed in, that grass looks good.

Truly a piece of miniature art. The attention to detail is just superb. A great subject Back To The Future. Id say if you photgraph this outdoor under natural light it would look very realistic. But it does look it as shown in this video. An amazing work of art. I wish i could do that.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️

“You’ll have to excuse the crudity of this model, I didn’t have the time to build it to scale or paint it…”

David, it's awesome. Your work is so inspired me to build such location, too. You're so talented. I wish you more subscribes❤
  • You should do videos of the whole process. Would really enjoy to watch and learn ❤️
  • This looks absolutely amazing! Great! How much time did it take to make that model (from idea over planning to building)? How much was the material and how much money did it finally make at the auction? I have no idea, how to measure the "real" value (material+time), but my guess for the auction would be 1000 dollars +. What i would love to see is the "town square" especially from 1955 and 2015 with all the buildings (café, record shop, car detailing, gas station, cinema, town hall etc.) surrounding it. In 1985 it was just a parking lot, also there would have to be two versions (normal/alternate). Either as a model (somewhere from toy car size, ca. 1:64 up to ca. 1:18) and not in "crappy" Lego style or as "walking simulator" game or even in VR...

I'd love to see you do a tutorial for some 1:24 scale dioramas to display the Welly 1:24 Diecasts.
