He played with the GOAT, his genius brother, anyone else will be a step down. Good for him. Thanks for the music.

Poor Alex. 🙏😢 I don't think anyone can imagine how much he misses his little brother . I think this new book BROTHERS is something which must be very necessary and important for him to write ...Catharsis, & putting the record straight....Its important for the rest of us but its even MORE important to him. That last photo sure looked like Neil Peart's kit.
  • @Stewart.fryers
How did someone end up putting Neil Peart’s kit as the last pic?

Alex was the reason I started playing drums at 6 years old. I’m now 52 and still play everyday. Thank you Al. You and your brother changed my life for the better
  • I love Alex Van Halen's music and think he's a great drummer. I think not responding to Michael Anthems' text was pretty douchey !!

What a tremendous talent calling it quits. He’s certainly not doing it for the money. My guess is the loss of his brother is so intense that anything to do with music without his brother is too much to bare, so if he gets all his equipment out of his face, that music part of his life is also gone like it is for his brother. So sad. Alex and his brother were two GOATS! Their music will still live on, so that’s the good news!

One of the best drummers I ever saw. More than once. Bad dude. If he's ready to put down the sticks. R.I.P. Ed. You fellas with Dave or Sam never let us down. Ever. Thank you

All of these guys, whichever line up you prefer, made an incredible contribution to ALL of us, who got to listen. It's a shame that great combinations of people, who probably, truly loved each other, can end so sadly. Like other relationships, its likely that there are multiple reasons, by all involved, why it ultimately went poorly. Not just 1 or 2 members. I am reminded of a great Dave Mason song... "There ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy, there's only you and me, and we just disagree". It happens too the best of us, at some point. Thanks to all of the Van Halen guys. I hope you can all find peace together. Not for a reunion tour, or album....just to be the freinds you all were, again.
  • @glengamble526
1:26 that’s not Alex. And at the end, you show Neil Peart’s drum kit. Wtf?
  • @pseudosun
come on, a birthday text?! Michael is very gracious, and doesn't deserve what he gets, or doesn't get. What's going on in Alex's mind when he sees michael reaching out, and decides to ignore him?
  • @Hedwallfxtd
One Gong mallet is going for $100K on the auction website… My max bid on one of Alex’s drum sets, is $90,000. Fingers crossed! 🤞
  • @graywhaler8542
I like how they showed Neil Peart’s drum kit there at the end.
