Man, brings back memories of painting cars for a little used car lot in the 80's. They wanted EVERYTHING pinstriped. That's a really nice green
  • Great job as always Jerry. ! I like how you finished off the front !
  • Great video Jerry, I have learned a ton watching and rewatching your videos. Thank you for you sharing your knowledge and experience.

Boy oh boy...THAT brings back memories for me from the mid/late 70's/early 80's !! I did a LOT of tape striping while I was in high school and a few years after graduating. My normal charge (providing the 'customer' bought the tape) for a stripe like that on both sides would have been $5.00 (considering I was working part time at a gas station for $2.75/hour) the $5.00 was good money back then. For a more elaborate or double set of stripes (remember, vehicles back then usually had at least 2 body lines) I would charge $10-$15.... depending on how 'difficult' the striping was. I even did a couple during shop class...LOL Things sure were easier then.
  • I remember my 1st stripe job in trade school. You’d lay out a magnetic track on the side of the car then run the paint bottle with a little wheel on it to dispense the paint. The good old days. Have a great weekend Jerry

Hi jerry, great video. My grandfather made one of those pinstripers with a piece of copper pipe and a dime for the roller. I still have it. Never tried it out though but im sure he used it . Have a great weekend!
  • Wow Jerry, you made it look easy!,I'd have had kinks all along the bed,lol

I removed the belt line trim off my 66 impala because I didn't like how it protruded from the car. I was thinking of making trim out of silver paint, maybe this would be a better option.

I was just looking for a video on this the other day. I was hoping to see a close up of the front end as you cut it. Reminds me of my time with Honda as a lot boy. Used to hang with the detailer and he showed me this years ago. I was slightly bummed to learn it was stickers and he didn’t hand paint em! 😂 now I wish I could get them stickers for my Jeep!

Very good job just what I would do I do that for myself at home and body work to the rates of the shop are crazy out of control people have to learn to do things on their own instead of making the shop rich

Are you going to put a little dab of clear finger nail polish on the ends to help them not peel up?
