Ariana Grande is letting fans know she not only switches positions, but vocal placement too. On Monday, June 17, a clip of the singer went viral from her recent interview on actor Penn Badgley’s podcast “Podcrushed.” In it, fans called out that she very quickly went from speaking in a low tone to talking in a higher voice. The “Yes, And?” singer took to the comment section with an explanation for the sudden change. “i intentionally change my vocal placement (high / low) often depending on how much singing i’m doing i’ve always done this BYE,” she wrote.

It reminds me of how Paris Hilton goes back in forth between voices when she speaks
  • @DANiCL4WS
it was so refreshing to hear her normal voice for a second lol

I love her real original low voice. It’s sexy. Reminds me of paris doing it for her tv character versus the real her. The real you is always the best you

Itz so thrilling 😂 girl has never talked like this before.. I think she has identity issues and it changes because she hasnt found who she really is.

I’m not saying she’s lying but as someone who is trained to assess and treat voice disorders I know that speaking at a higher or lower pitch other than your natural pitch puts strain on the vocal folds and can actually lead to issues like polyps or nodules on your vocal folds. I’m intrigued and will be doing some research on this.

Ariana Grande, Don't listen to negative comments section
  • @yezir3675
Why is she all of a sudden tryna speak so perfectly like over pronouncing the words almost, it's cringe... almost like a robot 🤖
  • @digitalmc
I don’t think the original comment was meant to be a threat. Person was just curious about the voice change.
  • The high voice is the "believe me" voice she puts on when she remembers she is selling her fake "sweetie pie" persona.
  • @catypirro802
How does she explain the weird accent on some words? Its like shes trying on yet another persona. Gurl, pick a race, pick a culture, pick an accent, and stick to it.
  • @evyberm801
It's not just her voice though but her body language, breathing, facial expressions. I feel uncomfortable myself just watching her. She doesn't seem genuine at all.
  • @seanhorton925
All her real fans know that this is nothing new. She explains that she talks in different tones to protect her vocals. Ariana you don’t owe anyone an explanation. Do you boo!

Voice change? Are you guys ok? Reach much?
  • @furrycheetah
Sometimes I don't understand why both fans of Ariana Grande and fans of Taylor Swift are always cross the line towards both of their artist favourite in this chaotic but iconic for the last ten years?
  • @milaathomas
you guys love to nitpick and judge every single thing this woman does. why do you care so much?
