  • The first time you hear this song, you are struck by the shear beauty and greatness. It moves from your ears to your heart to your soul and you need to hear it again or you will not be able to go on living. The second time you are compelled to understand what it's about. You research the lyrics, you google the meaning. You realize there is literally a cult around it and you are already in it. From there on, the joy of this song is all ANTICIPATION for each chord, verse, chorus, pause...a rollercoaster of goosebumps and heartache from start to finish. 100% brilliant masterpiece.

The String to break was meant to be. Maybe that makes this performance even more iconic.

This live version and this line-up will always be the best, Collin Edwin and John Wesley are truly missed in the band

It was so nice to see Steven Wilson being a human being rather than a robot. Not that he doesn't express himself on stage, but anyone that laser-focused on creating perfect music simply isn't human.

1:28 how can there be so much taste and beauty in just 3 ride bell hits? Phenomenal

Here just 5 days after the launch of this channel. Can't be more happy. Trains is not just a song.. it's a whole genre of music.. a way of life. Welcome, my fellow PT fans.. here we unite again. In our secret little universe.

The synchronized audience clapping at 4:12 sounds like the one that can be heard almost throughout in the song (the sound of a running train) which is something I absolutely love about this masterpiece of a song. Just gives me chills.
  • I saw them last friday in Chile. Oh men, what a band, what a drummer. Thanks son for introduce me to P.T.

LYRICS: Train set and match spied under the blind Shiny and contoured the railway winds And I've heard the sound from my cousin's bed The hiss of the train at the railway head Always the summers are slipping away A sixty ton angel falls to the earth A pile of old metal, a radiant blur Scars in the country, the summer and her Always the summers are slipping away Find me a way for making it stay When I hear the engine pass I'm kissing you wide The hissing subsides, I'm in luck When the evening reaches here you're tying me up I'm dying of love, it's OK When I hear the engine pass I'm kissing you wide The hissing subsides, I'm in luck When the evening reaches here you're tying me up I'm dying of love, it's OK
  • This song was my introduction to Porcupine Tree when I was in the 10th grade. Nostalgia hits hard, haha. XD
