The way Zachary portrays Tighnari is much similar to the JP dub and CN original! Calm, gentle, patient, nerdy, and nurturing with some subtle sass here and there. That's more accurate to Tighnari's character rather than having him act cocky and condescending, because he has always been a kind-hearted mentor.

I may not play Genshin in ENG but i kinda envy the ENG Players for having Greg heffley voicing tighnari, that guy is awesome.

I don't dislike the new VA and I think Zack will warm into his role with time as he grows used to playing Tighnari, but I can't lie, I do miss the sassier attitude version. That feistiness was what originally attracted me to the character when Tighnari didn't originally catch my eye/ appeal to me as a character. The portrayal is what I miss, not the old voice itself as I often see misconstrued. And I believe Zack has a ton of potential to do Tighnari justice as he gains more experience playing him!

Gordon is doing good. He just needs some time and HOYO should probably do some updates of the voicelines. The voicelines have been done in rush.

Old Tighnari: Chaotic and sassy New Tighnari: Mature and audacious (mostly towards the Akademiya)

Fun fact: the new voice sounds much closer to the original CN voice. he was never as sassy and sarcastic in the original. he's a teacher, a gentle one.

This will probably change to be more refined and polished just like how it happened to ayato's voicelines about itto. The recordings were rushed and the VA is still unfamiliar with the character I can already tell because the tone changes from "mika sounding" to "hayner" and "wimpykid" when you analyze each and every new voicelines of the new VA. Am pretty sure he hasn't played the game yet, his story and persona so it's difficult to get the smart sounding passionate botanist fox from the forest. Don't worry, if the satisfaction survey comes up again people will surely inform the devs if players properly point their views and maybe a second recording might happen

It'll take a while to get used to since I also loved Tighnari's sassy and a little rude personality. I just think it's quite boring if every single character is overly nice to us, so I love it when someone who feels more real gets added into the game. They're just funny in my opinion. That's a big reason to why I love Scara, Al Haitham, Fischl, Diluc etc.

My exact thoughts on this! Yes, Tighnari is a bit sarcastic but he is kind and gentle too. His old lines were taking mocking a bit too far in my opinion. Elliot being replaced was the best choice both for Hoyo and Tighnari.

In my opinion, the old voice sounded sassier but the new one sounds more nerdy and calm, with nice hints of sarcasm in his voice in some cases which still adds a little sass to his character.

I originally liked the old voice because of the lisp(?) but I would agree that the new one sounds a lot more confident. I also think Zachary gives tighnari more emotion when speaking too

u know what's funny? At first when I got him I looveed Tighnaris voicelines especially the " I HEAR EVERYTHING!" (va was elliot btw) Then later down the storyline I could just feel something in his voice that doesn't sit right with me, the way he says his lines genuinely feels like theres no love or empty or he feels "bad" or something, unlike other Genshin characters, then turns out 2 days later it was annouced he was a manipulative disgustive dude so yeh, my gut feeling wasn't wrong :')) I lovee the new va btw, despite the same "sassy" lines u could feel he's good unlike elliots way of saying it

I admit, it is a somewhat big change. but it is a new person and a new voice so of course it would be. He tried to bring in the sass and we will get used to it sooner or later. Also the new voice actor will grow into his role. I am sure of that.

Feel like same Barbara's situation. although she still voiced by her own VA but in difference way.

Am I the only one who loves the new voice? Maybe because I always listened to the other dubs so Tighnari's new voice seems more fitting for his character for me.

The interesting thing is that characters in game highlights his kindness more so his sass. So the new voice leaning more onto the gentle side does make sense And those who complain he sounds nerdy. Well,... Yeah. He's from the academia. They are ALL Nerds. He's gone on his own Botanist tangents several times. People just notice it more NOW because of his voice.

Yeah honestly it is the sass I miss. I originally didn't give Tighnari the time of day when he was first announced/released. It wasn't until I heard lines like "What are they going to do? Lock me up?" and my personal favorite "Ooo! Maybe I'll form an inter-species friendship today!" That made me really like his character. Zachary has a really great voice from an acting standpoint and he did a great job but it's going to take some time for fans of the previous deliveries (like myself) to warm up to his voice as Tighnari. I wish him the best of luck as his new role tho and hope to see him in Livestreams with the other VAs :) My coping headcannon is that Tighnari died while visiting Mondstadt during Windblume and was replaced by a Whopperflower.😅😂

I love the new Eng VA For Tighnari. His soft soothing and gentle voice sounds so caring and nurturing which is exactly what Tighnari is! Especially if you consider that he treats and heals others with herbs from the Forest. 😊 This was the kind of voice I had hoped for Baizhu ( which he did have but they changed it now 😅)
