RAID FARMS ARE NOW GONE FROM MINECRAFT! Have your attention? I should... I want to offer my thoughts on why this is an overall good thing to happen to Minecraft, and how it makes the new Mace, and Trial Chambers much more valuable.

Sounds like it wont completely eradicate raid farms, but it will stop automatic raid farms, allowing a more manual farm to still be used

Any nerfs are bad . Why is it always bedrock and never java
  • @AntonDeniz
Just so you know, the overpowerd raidfarms are for getting redstone, and most technical players just burn the totems and like 90% of the emeralds. Totems will still be really easy to get by just cheasing raids (whith those tiny 5 min raidfarms).

14:11 negates? Mate, having crop farms is something early on automating the farm is the next step mid game - end game. When we build a raid farm we are definitely in mid to end game area, the point where you are wanting to gather resourcers easily because i for one do not want to bloody waste my time having to farm crops or sticks to sell which is time consuming. Crop and stick/wood farms have other uses too besides selling so it isnt like it is negating it in end game either. So in conclusion I will be re-automating my raid farm, easily by creating a bubble elevator that sends the potion up where I can drink it, since I don't properly afk.

This doesn't make the game harder, it makes it grindier, the right answer is never to make force automatic farms to become manual but to make them harder to build. Yes, one should not be able to get that many emeralds with such little effort, but my world is 8 years old, we're sick of trading sticks and carrots and potatoes, it's slow, it's tedious, the UI is dogshit and I shouldn't have to do mindless repetitive tasks when I've spent thousands of hours in my world.
  • @lazygringo9701
Another example of if you don't like raid farms, don't build one. But that's not good enough for all the karens who want to dictate how everyone plays.
  • @krookedliptv9852
They've made some really bad changes lately. Anytime they do something that effects people's farms that some people have spent 30 to 40 hours building. That is a big NO NO. It's bad enough that they completely destroyed the way villagers work now you have to spend hundreds of hours to get a good trading hall together instead of maybe 10.
  • @blewflag9928
Mojang really just want people to grind more don't they. First was the experimental new villager trading, now you can't stack raids for emeralds. Honestly I can't see myself updating to 1.21 when it comes out.
  • @JackalMJ
It depend how they make it hard. The villager changes they planned were bad because they made it tedious, not simply harder. I also have the feeling once you hit end game the only thing left to do is build and farms make that easier.
  • @DeckiDance
I don't think this is needed or wanted, if u don't like Raid farms don't make them acc sick of mogang going back on stuff they have my concrete in the past.

About 13:00 ish… How does anything negate a part of the game? At the start I have by-hand crop farms, before entering midgame and automating them. After entering endgame, which is supposed to be the stage of the game where everything is automated, you have nearly infinite amounts of any basic ressource and you’re basically invincible, you buy crops from villagers. So before grinding your ahh up to that “lazy” buy-your-crops-with-emeralds-point, there is no negation of any part of the game. The negation is ok at the endgame, because if you want build something big in the endgame, you don’t want to get ressources by hand and just collect them from your farms and by then automatically sorting storage systems, but if you now have to do this, not over-complicated, but really complicated process, you will never reach the endgame. Except of course when our farmdesigners like ianxofour, mumbo or even silent and prowl make some complicated farms for complicated things. Your schema isn’t bad at the start, but after you speak about it, it looks worse and worse everytime you add something. Shortly, you think that the raid farms and villager trading halls negate a part of the game, but you are absolutely wrong. They do, but only at the endgame, where they should be negated by automatization, so that you can concentrate on your build or whatever.
  • @3141minecraft
You can create a macro to automatically drink potions so afk raid farms are still possible.
  • @Zogg1281
I love how Prowl switched from Mace to Hammer part of the way through! 😂
  • @stevenjulian8590
Just like some wither farms, this is will only be a semi-AFK farm. So we can only manually drink the potions to start every raid
  • @thereclaimer248
Its a good change if you play on smp or with other players, if you play on your own then its a major down side
  • @robertpayne3932
How are casual players gonna know any of this ?? So ur not bringing new people in at all, your just making it harder for the people who have continued to play the game all to cater to the new trial chamber system ...
  • @nobody-qg6uv
You keep saying makes it harder, no it makes it take longer to do things. I work 12 hours a day and to have things keep taking long and longer to get done it just keeps pushing me away, because I just don't have enough time to get anything done to progress. I'm going to either have to just start playing with cheats on or just stop playing all together.
  • @hankrearden20
My raid farm was always manual. So has does this break it exactly?
  • while I agree with "hard doesnt mean bad. harder can be good", i fear that this will not make the game harder or "more survival focused" it just makes it more tedious and thats a bad thing in any and all cases. The new gameplay loops you describe it is fine and good but lvl 5 potions only dropping from trial vaults is something I absolutely do not agree with. I fear that those potions dropping only from trial vaults means they become a limited resource. That means everytime you want to do a lvl 5 raid you need to find new trial chambers and wander further and further out, making it more and more tedious. Gameplay - wise that can become quite tiresome. From a technical standpoint, while thats less of a problem on single player worlds or large servers that have the strength to handle giant maps, what about players who play with set world borders? Servers with rather little capacity where you introduce quite the ammounts of lag if you have a map with a few thousand blocks radius? there its more realistic of actually becomming a limited good that is meant to be consumed. I feel like loot from vaults that is meant to be readily used and/or consumed should not be only available there and should have an alternative way of being acquired.

There’s probably a way to make a raid farm but you need to use water elevators to always make the center of the village at the top and at the bottom of the drop a dispenser for the ominous bottle to drink it on the way back up.
