Undervolting allows you to reduce heat output by your laptop, and also decrease throttling which results in increased performance. This results in not only a cooler laptop but also a quieter one.

This video will guide you on how to undervolt the CPU of your XPS 15 9560 (or for that matter, any Intel laptop), set Throttlestop to run on startup, and enable Intel Speedshift on 6th/+ gen CPUs where the manufacturer does not enable it (or you do not want to change the UEFI bit as possible on the XPS 15 9560).

  • Every single tutorial video should be done by this guy. Efficient, straight to the point, only the information you need with visual and audio cues. Excellent work, a model for how-to youTube.

Thanks for the video. Now my calculator can run crysis at ultra.
  • @kelly2631
I was able to follow this tutorial with all of the windows open without pausing once. This is a sign of a great tutorial.

I had many problems with the intel XTU tool, thank you for showing me other (better) alternative!

Amazing guide. Was having choppy framerates on my Gigabyte Aero 15x, your tut fixed it. Cant thank you enough. Your guide was fast, to the point and easy to understand, great job.

I seriously thought I was watching a video from someone with 100k subs.. Your video quality deserved more subs!

thanks dude, i can finally run minesweeper at 4 fps on my tesla

Omg I am so glad i Have found You and Your video :) I was having temps - on idle - at range of 75-82 degrees and now they are on 50-55 degrees. Big big thanks <3

This really helped me! Thank you so much. My HP Omen was COOKING all the time. Now it's running much better.
  • @cred8739
Wow! Thank you so much! I have a HP Omen 15 (2019) and this increased cooling performance a lot! I've always had temperatures like 90°C while playing GTA V, and with undervolting by -0,130V, I now have temperatures like 70°C max. while keeping the same performance. Thank you for this foolproof tutorial, since I'm very new to PC Gaming and stuff like this...

You helped me so much man, I was about to return my gl504 with having uge frame drops. Thank you very very much

Lifesaver. Short, direct, no BS. My favorite video ever.
  • @LukeSherran
Thanks mate, just tried this and it looks extremely promising. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you sooo much. My Yoga 940 was going crazy just from basic web browsing (the battery consumption was also around 40%/hour, if not more) 5 minutes in and I'm already noticing a difference. :D
  • @ajtronic
This and re-pasting dropped my temps big time. Finally stable.
  • @fh6218
Really good explanation. That was exactly what I was searching for! Im playing on a laptop which makes temperatures and CPU speed a sensible issue. I have tried undervolting before but it never really worked how I wanted it to. I have an i5 8300h which was limited to around 2.9 gHz (sometimes even lower) due to thermal throttling but now it runs pretty stable at 3.6 to even 3.9 GHz with also stable temperatures while at 100% load (with smaller tasks 4ghz if I'm lucky). Thank you!
  • @dannyclouds
I can't thank you too much! This is truly amazing. Thanks man
