I have listened to this beautiful song since the year recorded and my daughter was born. The time has come. Getting married this Saturday, Sept. 9th. Thank you, Mr. Carlisle. A true classic. Proud Dad!

My daughter’s father passed 2004. He used to give her butterfly kisses. This song makes me cry when I hear it.

I never paid attention to this song until my wife played it at my 15 year old daughters funeral. Now when I hear it I cry like a baby. I love you and miss you so much Tori.

I love this song my dad played it and said it was our song. On his death bed I played it for him while he was in an induced coma and I know he knew I was there at that time. he heard the song and tried to talk but he squeezed my hand and then gone to be with the Lord. my mom and I get butterflies at our front door almost everyday. I miss the physical part of not having him around. But he's not in anymore pain, and daddy keep the butterflies coming. I LOVE YOU.

Danced with my Daddy to this song at my wedding, and then he passed exactly 2 weeks after from stage IV brain cancer at the age of 49. That dance was the last time he ever stood up...he fought so hard bc he "had to walk his baby girl down the aisle and dance with her one last time," despite all his doctors telling me it'd be impossible for him to stand let alone walk & dance bc the tumor was the size of a melon. But, they didn't know my Daddy. They didn't know his sheer will. He is my hero and the strongest man I've ever known. Girls, young ladies, women, hold your Daddys close. Tell them you love them often. Laugh with them. Make memories with them. Pray with them. You never know when they'll be gone, so cherish every moment.❤

I've always cried at the "feel like I'm losing my baby girl" line. I had my dad for 29 wonderful years and just lost him a few days ago. He was able to give me away at my wedding almost 4 years ago and see his first grandchild (a boy) born 2 1/2 years ago, but that doesn't make the pain any less hurtful. I don't know why I'm tormenting myself listening to these daddy-daughter songs...we're having his service in just a few days and I don't know how I'm managing to eat, talk, survive... Listening to this song right now because I'm missing my mom a little extra tonight. She used to sing this to me all the time as a kid. She would change the word "daddy" to "mommy." She was a single mother and the only person I had. She died when I was 11 ❤

I miss my dad everyday. Passed away DEC 2013. There is not a day that goes by i don't think of him. Certain songs especially this one brings so many memories back of him love you daddy.

My Daddy passed away Wednesday......my heart is shattered but I am blessed that he was my Daddy. He battled cancer for three years so he could walk me down the isle and see his all grandchildren be born. My life is now forever altered but I will always always always be his little girl. Love you Daddy thank you for always letting me spread my wings and catching me when I fell. You've been preparing us for the day we would have to get up on our own.

I'm getting married I July. I've always loved his song so I played it for my father and said this is the song we are dancing to. He began to cry and said the song is perfect and held me tight. The fact that he is my step father but raised me as his own fills him with joy that I think of him so highly and proud to say that he is my father even if we are not blood.

I envy all those girls who had fathers that care and love them very much. My own father was extremely physically and verbally abusive all throughout my youth so I never knew a father's love that I needed so bad...what a difference it would have made in my life. Lifelong depression and sadness instead. But I love this song - I can only imagine what it must be like to have a loving father who walk their precious daughters down the aisle to marry the man that will hopefully treat them like their own fathers. Tears flow down my creeks - a big thanks for Bob Carlisle for writing and singing this amazing song.

This song makes me think of my dad. I lost him on May 19th 2019 due to a heart attack. and this has been not easy. I miss him so much. I played this song in his honor on my birthday at his funeral. Love you Daddy and I hope your happy!❤😭😭😭😭👨‍👧💋🙏 I can't wait till we see each other again in heaven someday.
