Loki is the most timeline intensive project within the entirety of the MCU, and now we're here to break it down and figure out when exactly Loki takes place. Between placements on the Timeline, how time works in the TVA, and how Variants work when they're from the Sacred Timeline, we break it all down. Because the show discusses the Timeline in ways no other films or shows do, we've decided to answer a number of questions that the Loki Timeline poses, and what that means for future films.

At least the MCU time travel isn’t as confusing as The Flash
  • @grafffuller3265
That was fantastic. Love the percentages at the end. Well done, indeed. Thank you for being our Sacred Time Keeper for the MCU. I hope as time progresses forward on this timeline, you will some day paid for all this hard work you've don. Our best to you, Sacred Time Keeper.
  • in terms of why Sylvie's timeline got pruned long after it should have, I heard a theory that originally she was supposed to do everything that Loki did (similar to old Loki, who looks different, but has the same timeline as regular Loki, even if he survived his death from Thanos), but then her timeline started branching off when she got inspired to be a Valkyrie, which is why the TVA showed up. at least, that's a theory I heard about a while ago.
  • That's where I put it on my list as well, without knowing D+ did it, too. (Although, the D+ list I feel is kinda... iffy at points. It's generally right, but a couple things feel swapped)

I love how much longer this one is than the other entries in the series. It's perfectly warranted, of course; it's just gonna be hilarious when the next one is only 5 minutes again.

Nice catch on the Ides of March! This is the quality content I'm here for.

With regard to why the Variant Lokis look different , it seems like the changes happen over time and based on how far away their new choices lead them. Old Loki didn't change much because he was isolated but Sylvie was missing a horn but otherwise dressed exactly like the original. It was only over time that she got rid of her headgear , took off her hood and became completely different. The same with our star character. By the end of the series , our Loki looks like a door salesman with a sword on his back......a complete change from how he started. I might be wrong here , but I'm just using what's in the series. Perhaps there's other reasons they look different. As always , love your videos Dakota thanks for sharing your ideas and helping us with all this.

Hey Dakota, I was wondering when your When does... Captain Marvel, Avengers Endgame, Spider Man Far From Home, WandaVision, and Falcon and The Winter Soldier... take place videos will be released. All those movies and series came out before Loki.
  • @frogoat
You've made way more of a effort than other channels to puzzle our this thing. You have my respect.
  • @MarshallLS
Insanely great video as always, can't wait for more.

Love these videos! And I agree with it 100%! But I have a question I want to propose to you, it’s been messing with my mind the past few days. We know from Loki that everything from Captain America to Endgame has been “orchestrated” by Kang/Nathaniel/He Who Remains, but that’s all. But where does it end? Does Loki break the timeline and WandaVision to Far From Home take place in this new broken timeline? Or with No Way Home presumably and almost completely confirmed to be Multiversal, does the timeline break after Far From Home, opening it for No Way Home?
  • @Protocol36
Awesome video! I love how much effort you put in your work and I agree, I've always assumed it took place straight after Endgame because without what happens in that film the Loki variant wouldn't have been able to escape but still hard to tell how exactly the TVA measures time in the null void, hopefully we have an idea in Season 2.
  • @Yobiayyub
3000 thumbs up. Maaan! If u remember me. THIS ANSWERED ALL MY CONFUSING IN LOKI especially on Loki Variants. You DID IT. What a marvelous work. Marvel should hire u dude.
  • Finally getting around to watching this, and naturally I'm gonna have questions cuz man is this complicated 😂 Firstly, I wanna appreciate the work you're putting in to proudest such quality timeline content, somehow even probably more so than ever
  • @alchemypotato
See, I assumed the TVA functioned just like the void at the end of time. Though that wouldn't explain how agents aren't aging when they aren't inside the TVA. That whole element of the show makes a lot more sense before you learn they are just variants.
  • @nickshares8158
Nice to see that you picked the series back up. Btw are you doing the 2019 movies
  • @luciferguchi
Sacred Timeline is like a rope with several smaller ones tied together. Meaning many intervowen timelines not creating a branch of sort to form another rope. It's quite simple. Just like the Steins Gate Anime. Those who know ;)
