What may have been a throwaway moment for him then meant so much to you. A good lesson to remember that we touch everyoneā€™s life that we meet in subtle and not so subtle ways.

  • A person who I respect shared a story. Each person is a perfect circle of clear, clean water. Each of our interactions with one another is a stone we cast into that pool. Your story is proof of that.

Sorry for the long-winded comment: That was a great story man, thanks for sharing that. I could see the whole thing play out in my head like a movie. I was born in the late 70s so as a kid I listened to whatever my parents listened to, then I was introduced to stuff like white snake, poison, kiss, metallica, etc. on mtv. Then around 1990/91 ish I remember turning the dial of my radio and hearing Nirvana for the first time. I think I was around 13, and it blew my mind because I had never heard anything like it before so I started listening to them, pearl jam, soundgarden, alice in chains, etc. then got on an aerosmith kick for a while. Fast forward to the early 2000s and I started to listen to a lot more classic rock which I still mostly listen to now. Basically, my musical lexicon stops around 2006 when my first child was born because for the next 10+ years it was baby/kids songs all the time. Now they are teens and I'm like wait, what happened to all the rock bands? I guess it fell out of favor, bummer...

  • That's awesome Mikey, I went to go see my old foster mom and it'd been over 15 years since I've spoken with her but I remembered the street name and finally decided to try and look for her house... long story short I always thought of her and how happy and fair she was and after I went home to my real mom I was forced to loose touch because it made my mom upset, so when I found her house she recognized me and was shocked I found her after all this time and talked about how life would have been if she had adopted me, but I was saddened to hear that in these years, her husband had passed away and she also lost her daughter šŸ’” and the other daughter was divorced. Felt like the dream of bieng in the family kind of turn gray
