Tbh $700 for business class is still too expensive for me. That’s like a whole new economy ticket or even more in many instances.

In the 1980s and 1990s during the old days of network marketing seminars that were held at hotels in Las Vegas they called this upselling. Fast forward to the 2020s. Airlines changed the word upselling to upgrading and continued upselling.

Lol... Often they offer businesses class long haul flights for 1.5 to 1.8k only if u don't want to fly a specific time

yes because being outbid does not mean there re no seats left. if they have 5 seats left and 1 person bids higher, you will get the outbid mail.even wth 4 seats left. note to all: most airlines offer promotional upgrade 72 hours before so phone them, normally cheaper than the bid

Excact same story for me :) Lax - ZRH with swiss. First flight nothing happend. And now the upgrad. 900 dollar for a 11h flight is pretty cheap (lowest bid you could have done) :) looking forward for that flight and access to the luxury lounges. Yaaay🎉

Sometimes if you purchase an expensive economy class ticket like a week or two before going, they will upgrade you to business thinking that you are capable of purchasing business class in the future.

You didn't get an upgrade, lady. An upgrade is complimentary. You PAID for the upgrade hence you bought it!! I got free upgrades several times without paying a dime. That's called an upgrade! 🤨

That's just pure lucky, I placed a bid before, but I was out bid, and I didn't get the upgrade,! 😂
