  • Eddie doing 15 reps on squat and being disappointed is the best thing in this video
  • @tomtaylor92
Thor was extremely lucky and privileged to be given 14 reps on the viking press. Poor form towards the end reps. Eddie had more in the tank. His static power is insane. Definitely strongest man in 2017.

Seeing Eddie help Brain after his deadlift makes me think that this is where the best friendship started.
  • Watching this again I just can’t see where Thor could claim Eddie cheated. The double dipping ruling seemed fair considering the amount of warnings he got
  • @--SPQR--
Eddie making a 1014lbs deadlift look like 225 is absolutely insane to this day
  • @krossxeye660
Eddie is statically one of the strongest men in history. He may have struggled with strongman specifically sometimes but put weight on a bar and ask him to move it and he will move ot

I’m not a huge fan of the way Eddie conducted himself in the pre-fight with Thor but damn. I can see why he had such a chip on his shoulder. Say what you want about him but he has integrity when it comes to competition and there are multiple examples to support this. He won fair and square, achieved his dream, and Thor took a big shit all over his trophy and never gave him the respect he earned. 2017 Eddie Hall was absolutely legendary and this is top 3 best WSM, imo.

"I'm sure 10-15 years from now they're gonna be reppin our max's" - Eddie Hall back then Well its been 8 years nobody has even matched your deadlift record
  • @Brey

  • @coolcatalex6241
Wow just wow... A squat for reps, overhead for reps and a max deadlift. Crazy static competition and in my opinion the true test of strength. Amazing final and performance from every competitor!!
  • @potlife777
Seeing the relief in Eddie’s face when he wins is awesome. You can tell he put everything into it
  • @09pietram
Mateusz did really well at establishing himself as the fastest strongman. Coming in at 23 years old and much lighter, when is comes to moving events this guys is incredible. Speed, endurance and power is amazing. There is not many that can keep up with him today. Only Novikov comes to mind.
  • It was never about the double dipping, it was about the fact that eddie beat him by one because that's all he needed, and THEN he wanted it to change.
  • @bokrugby4849
I come back to this every now and then to remind myself that Eddie deserves justice for this attack on his integrity. Let’s hope justice is served on Saturday
  • @Zielu13
IT NEVER WAS ABOUT DUBLE DIPPING. Hafthor got several warning for not waiting for down signal. Despite that Colin counted these reps anyway. Once he realized Thor didn't improving he taken away last rep and call it dubble dipping. Colin Bryce admits it himself when arrguing with Thor after event at 25:06 "I warned you and I gave you 1 off. Sorry. 1 off 4 got taken away" Colin made very good decision for taking away at least one rep.

I wish Shaw had won this, so close to his 5th against one of the most top-heavy fields of all time...but perhaps it saved Eddie’s life to allow him to retire after his one win.
  • @Timeculture
Never seen anyone more deserving of this title than Eddie. He’s an inspiration I must confess
  • 48:55 Brian has got to be in a lot of pain. He took 40 seconds on the stones he can normally get sub-30 on. Sometimes I wonder if Shaw would've won his 5th in 2017 just from not screwing up the hamstring. Oh well, just speculation, but you can agree that every strongman fan have ran scenarios in their heads of what little things the athletes could've done to win or place higher. like Thor winning 2014 bringing the squat suit, Z never getting the nerve injury and winning another Arnold and breaking 240kg log. Mateusz never tearing the tricep and winning wsm, Eddie not retiring at cutting to 175kg and win more Britain's, and my Favorite, Mike Jenkins never Passing, winning Wsm, pushing Z on log, and breaking records in the dumbbell and frame.
