Banjo-Tooie is a classic 3D platformer developed by Rare, initially released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000 and later on the Xbox. It's a direct sequel to Banjo-Kazooie, following the whimsical adventures of Banjo the bear and Kazooie the bird. This time, they must thwart the plans of the wicked witch Gruntilda, who has returned from her rock-bound prison to drain life forces and regain her lost beauty. Players navigate diverse worlds, collecting items and solving puzzles while utilizing the dynamic abilities of Banjo and Kazooie, including split-up techniques and transformations. Banjo-Tooie features improved graphics and sound, with a delightful soundtrack, and offers a multiplayer mode for added fun. Its enduring charm and engaging gameplay have secured its place as a beloved classic in the 3D platformer genre.

Banjo-Tooie's enduring popularity and legacy are further solidified by its re-release on the Xbox platform as part of Rare Replay, introducing a new generation of gamers to its captivating world and memorable characters. With its expansive game world, charming art style, and humorous storytelling, Banjo-Tooie continues to be celebrated as a nostalgic favorite and a standout title in the history of video games.

I'll try to list some stuff you could show off I guess. First off, while you're at Cauldron Keep. In the brief period AFTER you revive Bottles/Jingaling, but BEFORE you beat Gruntilda, you can return to Jinjo Village and stand outside Bottles' house and you can hear the rave party music inside. IDK if you showed it off yet but Xbox added a Jiggy Tips menu. It's buried under Help & Options menu and it won't appear if you're currently standing in Isle O Hags. It lists what Jiggies you got already. For Cloud Cuckooland, you can stealth hack the giant talking safe instead of bothering with the 4 number combination switches. They left a gap wide enough to shoot eggs though, it's on the left seam of the door. Use Blue Eggs to test if your shots are going through, then clockwork it for the Jiggy inside. Y'know those evil possessed beehives that attack you? I haven't tested if this is true or not, but apparently using Dragon Kazooie's fire breath will make them drop 4 honeycombs instead of 2, and if she waits until the very last second and the beehive is RIGHT about to hit her it will spawn 6 honeycombs. (Allegedly) Try walking into the cannon plants in CCL as Solo Kazooie. It has to be a new cannon plant you haven't used before, but if you do it glitches poor Kazooie out. And if you didn't know, in Tooie you can hold your flying aerial divebomb move forever, which is very useful for zipping around CCL quickly. If you find yourself back in Witchyworld for some reason, talk to Salty Joe specifically as Solo Banjo. He has amusing dialogue. That's all I got. :v

Mumbo can bring Bottles back to life, he just doesn't want to. :v It's never explicitly stated why the Aliens go to Hailfire Peaks, but it was established that their ship uses ice as fuel so that's probably why. My guess is they were on the return trip to Hailfire when they ran out of fuel and dropped out of the sky, leaving behind that giant hole in the lagoon.

Not sure if it was on purpose or a great coincidence, but it's so neat how you have a red and blue bracelet on - feels very thematic to Hailfire Peaks. :D

One thing I found interesting when going through this game, as far as I know this is the only mumbo pad that doesn’t directly face its target.

Murdering an ice cube in order to free a Jinjo. But to be honest, she kinda asked for it. If you speak to her a second time, she says “Don’t think you’re taking this little man I’ve acquired either!” Like, she’s willing to keep an innocent Jinjo trapped inside her until you meet her demands. And he could wind up freezing to death. In a way, she’s basically attempting to commit murder too! God, this game is dark

Did you notice Humba Wumba keeps checking her non existant nails 😂

I related to the chaos of this video lol. I can't wait to see how it ends :)

Mumbo seems confident that it will work based on the thumbnail

I'm not a fighting game guy and like I dabbled with Killer Instinct as a kid but I do think that is the biggest deal of the newest Rare games that were announced in the that partner Direct. Killer Instinct's just dope even if I'm not super into it. I don't remember much about 40 Winks but I don't think it was Rare at the very least. I do remember about it coming to N64 super late but most of the information that I barely remember is from the video by Nitrorad over it. There is so many games on Rare Replay I wanna try but the damn thing never comes to PC Game Pass and the copy I thought my brother had is either a lie or elsewhere so I haven't been able to try those games.

So fun fact: Josh is colorblind apparently, that was not a brown gingo

You know, Mumbo and Humba SAY they hate each other, but that secret passage connecting their homes is a bit suspect... I actually really like Cloud Cuckooland myself (outside of one infamous challenge that I just cheese now anyway). It's bright, colorful, imaginative, and once again subverts what you'd expect from a final world like Click Clock Wood did. I'd probably rank it above Hailfire Peaks to be completely honest. I dunno, I guess this is your version of me hating on Terrydactyland. XD

For sale- alien-baby shoes, never worn...

Boggey is such a jerk. He didn't even acknowledge how long its been since they met.
  • So he can afford a "giant" TV, but Boggy still can't find the money for indoor plumbing or a parenting seminar. Typical.

Is SabreWolf a good game? I have seen absolutely nothing of that game. The only Xbox system I own is the 360 so I can’t play Rare Replay.
