I enjoy the good ol “3 men drinking will start a fight 3 men smoking will start a band”

Stoners all arriving here in hopes of hearing that it’s “not bad”.

After smoking daily for more than 10 years, I went cold turkey during June 2023. The only withdrawal symptom I experienced were vivid nightmares which would wake me up in the middle of night. It lasted around 4 months. While I achieved academic and career milestones while being high, I managed to achieve a lot more during my 11 months of being sober. Weed helped me get through some rough patches of life, and I decided to quit it after life became bearable. To each his own, your body will let you know when to stop.

Well after 55 years of burning one every afternoon after work I live in a mansion, been married for 46 years, have 5 kids with college educations, and am retired with a small fortune. Never been arrested in my life.

Doctors calling for a re-ban on cannabis and not on tobacco or alcohol is purely insane and delusional.

After 30+ years of using cannabis, I have NEVER seen someone act violent after using this plant. They might wait for a stop sign to turn green or laugh to the point of tears...that's about it.

Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.

The misconception of weed is crazy! I smoked weed for around 10 years on a daily basis. My rule for myself was that I would only smoke when the sun goes down. Then, I can chill in my safe zone and enjoy the effects. I played games, chilled with my buds, and lived it up. Basically, it's a classic picture of stoner life. Anyway, one day, I moved into my own place and still enjoyed smoking, but I found I didn't enjoy doing it on my own anymore. I eventually stopped smoking, and I might've smoked twice in the past 10 years. I found I get insanely anxious if I do it, and I dont enjoy it at all anymore. I still have close friends who do it, and I don't judge them at all. Things I know for a fact based on my experience (I can't emphasize how big of a stoner I was): 1. Weed does not cause you to go crazy and break the law. People have this in them or not. 2. Weed might not be addictive, but it is definitely a tricky habit to quit. 3. You don't dream when you sleep. 4. I don't care what people say. It definitely makes you more complacent and less ambitious in life. 5. It affects your social life. I just thought someone would appreciate my experience on this topic. Take it or leave it, I am glad I went through this journey. Stay safe, yall.

Smoked weed everyday for 4 years, quit cold turkey and haven't touched it for over a year now. The negatives: The occasional cravings to get high in the first 2-3 months from feelings of boredom and/or stress, and going from having no dreams at all to getting extremely intense and vivid dreams. The positives: Feeling more clear headed and alert/sharp, my memory has improved/returned, I don't wake up anymore with that "high-over" feeling of being slow and groggy, and I have less social anxiety around people.

For anyone thinking about smoking weed: I was stuck in a bubble and pushed away anyone who even made the slightest comment about me smoking weed. I had no idea I was such a pain to be around and that it had changed my behavior. There was no way for anyone to get me out of it, because I could not see that I was stuck. The only way was to ride it out until it went completely wrong. Losing my friends was the least of my problems compared to the mental health issues weed caused me, and I still have to deal with that 11 years later. It is always good to share the personal downsides of drugs, because the people who say that it is nothing but positive, will scream the loudest and ignore the people spiraling out of control in the process. It is such a big risk for undiagnosed people...which can be anyone. Sure it can have positive effects for certain people, but don't gamble on it. If you or any direct family have mental health issues, than don't just start doing drugs. Take this from someone with schizophrenia and other psychosis related problems triggered because of weed.

In my own opinion, I'm soo happy I quit weed after years of smoking, I've never felt more clearer minded, calm, energetic and motivated.

I found that being very lightly high makes me a little more productive, or at least makes me a little better at focusing. I have ADHD and being able to actually feel some joy doing simple tasks helps me to complete them.

Cannabis is my best friend. Smoke daily age 67. Get a lots of creative stuff done. Dream regularly. I’m usually straight until about noon and then once or twice during the day. It’s helpful to me in so many ways. That’s why I love it!☮️
  • i take 10 days off of smoking per month , no withdrawls besides some wild dreams here and there - going back to weed and getting "too high" brings on the anxious feeling many comments here are talking about , simply just accept being "too high" and know it will be over soon and then you can enjoy being "too high"

I smoke daily for chronic pain and PTSD. It’s grounding for me. If a little bit of brain damage happens, then so be it.
  • @diboxide
i started smoking daily at the start of the pandemic lockdown — it’s completely eased the anxiety i’ve dealt with for over 20 years. i’ve become a tad lazier (i’ve always been a huge procrastinator), but mentally, i’m in the best place i’ve ever been.

I’ve only been a stoner for two years and it really helps me not disassociate, it helps me block out negative memories, it helps me feel more comfy in public… but lately I’ve been thinking about how I can’t remember much of my childhood anymore, even high school is super spotty and I wish I could get those memories back.

I have been smoking every day for 3 years. It happened that during holidays it was from morning to evening. Of course, the smoking was 100% natural from a source. What I noticed is an increased desire for development. The first year was all about smoking and gastro, and after a year I started exercising intensively and reading a lot. Today, after 3 years, I sometimes take a break for a few weeks to see if it's easy for me to quit. It is important that we establish the appropriate dosage before we achieve a certain tolerance to cannabinoids. We also need to be sure that the marijuana we consume is free from chemicals and pesticides that can lead to brain damage.

I'm 48 and never had a bad moment smoking weed. But I have been around folks and it affects everyone differently. Now that I'm older I enjoy smoking at home by myself. I have a normal life
