This is how open and obvious organised crime is in New Zealand. And for visitors like my wife, it's shocking.
If you stay away from them, they won't bug ya. But the reality is gangs are known for the drug trade, murder, theft, violence against women, and the list goes on.

As a New Zealander, this is very true. One time, I was on a school bus, and our bus was stuck on a side road next to a main road where there was like a 10 minute long convoy of a gang (Can’t remember what gang) but it turned out it for a funeral of a fellow gang member of theirs, and the entire convoy of gang members were throwing gang signs at our bus and a bunch students was doing it back😂

As a female who lives in New Zealand I can confirm there are a pot of gangs, I've seen/ran into them mostly at petrol stations but if you leave them alone they'll leave you alone

Some of the nicest and most helpful people I met in NZ were gang members, we got a flat out on the coast road, and the only guys to stop and help us were a bunch of bikers, all with gang jackets on. They took us to town and the local garage, sorted out a toe for our car and we never even paid for the replacement. Absolutely lovely guys TBH.

I come from New Zealand, and I like to say are extremely chill unless you bug them it fine, also they have holded a special funeral for a gang leader/memeber that has passed away.

Here in Canada we have gangs of geese. Similarly they will leave you alone if you stay away and don’t walk on their patch of grass
