  • This game is Minecraft but in space. There is some fighting from the sky to the ground but not a ton. There is a ton of building and an unlimited amount of exploration just like Minecraft. Fun expeditions to do, different ships to collect, tons of missions. I personally really enjoy this game, especially after playing stressful games like Elden ring, sekiro, dark souls. This game is such a relaxing experience.

23 minutes? You almost had me convinced, were it 24 minutes of reasons I totally would be playing once again.

Once I started to build on my freighter, my love for the game really increased. One thing I highly recommend anyone purchase for their freight is the matter relay and the storage containers. Once installed on the freighter, and as long as your freighter is in the same system as you, you can send (or take) any item to/from it. It made item management SO much better.

9:40 you you don't need all 3 drives - just the 'S' class indium drive, with which you can jump to any system.

I just got this game yesterday cause it was on a massive sale and I canā€™t stop playing it ā¤ Absolutely fantastic. Thereā€™s so much mystery and magic in this space simulator. You always have so much to learn/discover/build/etc. I donā€™t know too much about the updates but the latest one (update 5.0) apparently is massive and changes the visuals a lot, so Iā€™m happy that jumped on now. To infinity and beyond my brave explorers ā¤

Been playing this game since day 1. I have a squid ship and multitool from prior to the NEXT update with boosted stats that are very difficult to replicate with current assets in the game. To get the ship I had to look up coordinates to the Eidolon Hub system. For the multitool I had to trek across a planet in the exocraft 30 minutes each way to a settlement where the experimental multitool was located because I had to use a teleporter to get there, you couldnā€™t summon your ship on the other side of a portal. Itā€™s called the imperfect mass stabilizer and still my main multitool to this day!

one thing I will note though, unlike Minecraft where optimization can be the whole point of a game, making all the farms and the like, if you try that in NMS you'll get bored fast the moment you get it done. NMS is about the journey because the destination is a shallow kiddy pool full of disconnected and disjointed content islands that don't interact with each other very well. An example of this is back a couple years ago, they added pirate raids on planetary sites, including your base. Did they add base defenses to help you deal with the threats? nope, instead when one shows up you either have to hide in a hole so you don't get shot or jump in your ship and deal with it yourself. Companions are useless wastes of screen space that don't do anything and don't even get me started on how close to 0 the overall dps of your wing is, even with 4 wingmates... Oh, and that rare staff you gotta put 20+ hours into the game to get, yeah, don't bother unless you just like the way it looks because it's just like every other multitool, nothing special. These complaints being said up front, I'm currently playing through again from a fresh save because this game is just so pretty and chill that i can't seem to stay away lol... if you haven't played yet, you should and if you fell off, now's a nice time to come back because of the complete visual overhaul. My only overarching complaint though is that HG would rather focus on fomo and new shiny cosmetics than actually fixing the underlying systems that irritate long time players. Expeditions should be playable whenever people want, not just time limited events with rewards that are completely unobtainable any other way, but That's just a personal opinion from someone who thinks Diablo seasons are a waste of time lol... Edit: forgot to mention that settlements rarely give you anything useful, in fact I have a hilarious story about a time where i abandoned a settlement because they literally wanted to give me a pile of crap for helping them :D (that's what fecium is...)
  • Playing since Day 1, i have 2000+ Hours ingame with a lot new starts with every mayor update! You made a nice sum up here!
  • @soldierx345
My buddy and I are working on an intergalatic Nip-Nip Bud growing operation. Also have mobile operations on our capital ships. And if you want a sweet fireplace for your base, I'm that guy.
  • Good stuff I'm a week into playing this game. Gotta say even on the steamdeck it's been a beautiful experience so far. Best $23 I've spent in a long long time
  • @KeanuChrist
Iā€™m one of those new ships youā€™ll see at the Space Anomaly. Iā€™m overwhelmed from the amount of features, but Iā€™m having so much fun exploring, and figuring it out.
  • Nice video! It's well paced, not too fast and you explain as you go, very digestible content :D
  • @spaceman6_6
I just started playing and I'm on relaxed mode. My recent mission was to build a base computer (done it). At what point do you think i should start expeditions? I'd like to actually be able to have a better suit and ship because my inventory is often getting filled up and i still don't know what's important to keep long term or short term.
  • @AndreVandal
Note: Only the indium drive is required to visit red, green and blue stars, you can delete the others they are useless now, same with the Atlas pass, once you have the third the other 2 are garbage
  • @xplay751
At the end of the year u can return all the expeditions u missed if u want
  • @ChickenGhost11
I just got the game a couple days ago, I was worried it would be boring but Iā€™ve actually been having tons of fun!
  • @Do27gg
Bought it when it was released and havenā€™t been back, might give it another shot
  • @sntki8561
My base on my freighter living in space is soon cool. Space base with all my ships stores in my mother ship. So awsome šŸ˜Ž
  • Another great reason to play - there will be random players who join the anomaly station and start to drop stacks of 50 Starship AI Valves. Spent the better part of 2 hours just refreshing and dropping players 1.8-3.2bn units worth of items (6 stacks of 5 is max units. 3.5bn) glad to see the new players dash toward this ship to the nearest vendor. Guarantee they are headed out to get better
  • @soulstealah
