CERO's stance on gore is the very reason why DBZ Kakarot was the first Japanese-developed Dragon Ball game to feature Future Gohan with his arm missing instead of having it limp.
  • @wardy4903
Just another reason for kids obsessed with working for free for their faborite devs to think about it a little harder. You arent paid, and your work will disappear without a trace eventually and its completely legal for a company that supports LBP or roblox to do that.

That graffiti story is honestly hilarious. It's definitely just a coincidence with no ill intent because the studio is not an American one. I could see there being a case if this was an American studio behind the game where one artist just tried to do something cheeky but this is clearly just cultural obliviousness. I'm reminded of that amazing Linus hard r clip.

When a product like that reach end of life the server should be made public. It is likely a problem of licensing preventing even that.
  • 10:05 "English will be the second language" Also cultural differences... Remember a video I saw recently showing people in Japan a swastika and the original symbol it is a modification of Younger Japanese people didn't know what the swastika was, but knew the original symbol as the symbol used for Temples
  • JFC, it's not like the "Hard R Shop" features a black shopkeep who only sells KFC and stolen bikes. People on twitter will reach for anything to be pissed about.
  • @Lewisking50
tbh someone writing a "hard" graffiti next to a big neon R is something that would 100% happen irl, too
  • That little big planet News hits really fucking hard. One of my favorite games of all time. I made so So SOO many friends and made so many good fuckkng memories on that game. And not only that but it was just a really good fucking game that pushed the boundaries of creativity and wonder. This news has genuinely made me depressed. If not even for me im sad for the people who will never get to experience LBP that will never even have a chance of knowing what they've missed out on because it's gone. Damn man... I don't have enough words to describe my sadness, this was a piece of my childhood thrown into the fucking garbage God damn.

The fact that Stellar Blade even exists as it does is surprising, but let's not forget that Sony is still very selective about what they censor or not, Stellar Blade is fine but recently released Bunny Garden is somehow only available on Switch and PC, I wonder why. If you've been following niche japanese devs you know the answer already, Sony.
  • @Bask3tChase
Sony: “Buy our digital only consoles!” Also Sony: “You can’t have that game you paid for anymore, sorry.”
  • @SickPrid3
Why are you calling placing of that graffiti next to a neon R "a mistake" ? mistake is when you do something wrong, they did absolutely nothing wrong by having those two next to each other there is a saying in my country that roughly translates to; if you look at a carrot and get horny, there is something wrong with you and not the carrot this is where this saying fits perfectly

This (and the fact that games are now released buggy AF) is why I've suffocated my FOMO and don't buy games at launch. I've gotten comfortable with the fact that I'm not buying games, but merely renting them. Game publishers will now have to get comfortable with the fact that I shall not pay ownership prices and rent them when they're patched and on a huge sale.

Can very safely say the "Hard R" incident was not intended by the Stellar Blade devs. I have a number of friends outside America that were confused by the backlash as they didn't know the potential meaning either. And as a black person myself I didn't even care. I doubt most of us did. Interestingly enough, the only people I've personally seen online get mad about it never mention their race or are straight up white. I swear this savior mentality is only painting a bigger target on our backs because people keep thinking we're the ones getting riled up when the majority of us either laugh at this sort of thing or aren't bothered by it. And the change I wouldn't call "censorship" either; at least not extreme. I don't like censorship in any form and whenever Stellar Blade comes out on PC, if someone makes a mod bringing that "Hard R" back in, I'll happily install it myself. But I can understand why they changed it. It's one of those cultural things that means nothing to one but something bad to another. It also has zero impact on the game and doesn't hurt the integrity of the game's vision in general. Happy to see the game's getting praises. As mentioned I'm definitely grabbing it whenever it hits PC.
  • I loved LBP this is sad af I can't believe Sony is trying to sell modern live services when they couldn't even bother to maintain a past one...

We need Open Source Solutions for Servers, so that someone can Backup and reupload them. Something like Torrend, but for Gaming Servers and User Generated Content like Maps.
  • @grandsome1
The stellar blade marketing leaned hard into the culture war to create buzz, not surprising that people see provocation where there's none, comes with the territory.
