  • There's still cheaper ways. For example, our last trip to Disney, we stayed off property. Found a hotel room for $80 per night, with mini fridge and microwave and continental breakfast. We pack lunches. We still rope drop. And had a fantastic trip for a third of the price. 😊

I lived in Fl when my son was little. We stayed at a $7 a night campground in a tent, packed snacks and drinks in with us, and shared a kids meal, but we always had annual passes.

We've stayed at the Swan and Dolphin using our Marriott points to save money, plus they're close to moderate tier prices. They have a great pool with a slide, walking distance to Epcot and HS or boat. Also dont pay for water in the parks! Get free ice water at quick service locations and you can bring Gatorade type packets to add for flavor and electrolytes. The drinks alone can save major bucks throughout your trip

2019 drove from NC. Started at 2am. Brought food for the road. Bathroom breaks and rotating drivers every 2 hours. Drove my Prius. $100 in gas round trip. Stopped at Walmart to stock up on food. Backpacked REAL food into the parks. Stayed at a close by VRBO with a full kitchen, 3 bedrooms, close to the parks.
  • We stayed at one of the Disney Springs hotels (B Resort) last June and saved a lot of money. Still got early entry and free transportation.

Wanted a Disney World Christmas vacation....since it's unnecessarily expensive at Christmas time, we enjoyed our Disney Christmas vacation the first week in January.... Disney still had its holiday cheer and decor....we didn't overbook or overspend on trinkets and restaurants....we went food shopping and planned our vacation 10 months ahead.
  • In 2018 we drove from Saskatchewan (above Montana) to Disney World .Definitely saved us money over flying and we got to see St Louis, Nashville, Savanah on the way down. New Orleans and Memphis on the way back. 9,700 km in total

  • Highly recommend the new Drury; fantastic hotel and amenities, walking distance to Disney Springs, and NO RESORT FEES.

As long as you don't mind going off Disney property it's usually pretty easy to find rooms for under $75 a night and many also include breakfast, which is another nice way to save a little more money. And if you pack lunch and snacks for the park or just generally don't eat at their high priced restaurants it's very easy to enjoy the parks on a budget. As AP's we go often and use this strategy to keep our costs low. We drive so we don't have car rental or ride share fees to worry about, but even if you did it's still a cheaper way to go. Also, even many if the less expensive hotels have free shuttle service to the popular theme parks-not as frequent as Disney Transportation, of course. But we've taken their transportation to the parks before and then just taken a Lyft back to the hotel before as many do stop before park closing. Which did work out cheaper than renting a car for one of our trips. The most important thing is to research what the hotel has to offer and weigh it against your needs. There are several clean, decent hotels near Old Towne in Kissimmee which is very near Disney but also makes for a very fun day/night in itself too. On the weekends they have antique cars aplenty in addition to games, Carnival style rides, quaint shops and restaurants-free parking and you can get unlimited rides with a 20ish dollar fee. Makes for a fun and relatively cheap date night.

Magic kingdom used to be my favorite park. Ever since Disney is changing my favorite ride. Splash mountain! Really! They shouldn’t took away! I’m glad I have a splash mountain hat. Ring tone.

We are going at the beginning of November. We booked our flight months ago.We booked Mears Express. We were very pleased with them last time.

We came to WDW at the end of July for three weeks, two families totalling 7. Stayed in a ‘Disney’ villa. The house was 30 minutes from WDW, 45 from Universal, it was poorly decorated and the rental company oversold it describing the most budget as premium. We literally didn’t find out how far away from WDW we’d be until a week beforehand despite our agent telling us it would be months. We though we’d save money but the food shopping was so expensive, so with the car and petrol on top we could have stayed on site. Spent the last week in the Swan and it was amazing! I recommend my family do it after everything AJ has said. Would never stay in a villa again, but definitely would return to the Swan. Being a walking distance was a game changer!

I only paid $33.60 TOTAL for Taxes & fees for Jetblue flights from NYC to MCO roundtrip for 3 people leaving Aug. 28 & returning Sept 5th....just used my points

Honestly, never thought about modifying days for multiday tickets to get cheaper prices. In the past, if we arrived on say Mon May 1st...we started our tickets on Tues May 2nd......But now, we will look for a couple days prior as it just makes sense! Thank you for the advice!
  • @leighann82074
My 1st time to WDW I drove from California. Took me 2 1/2 days. I slept in the back of my pickup truck and then stayed at All Star movies.
  • @59771006
If driving is the cheapest way to get to WDW can someone please tell me how I can drive there from Australia?
