Nux didn't need Immortan Joe to get to Valhalla. He needed a Valkyrie.
-
I think alot of people are not realizing as soon Nux heard that he was dead, his entire belief system shattered. He was raised as a pup to believe Joe was truly immortal. When he chose to stay in the car, he knew there wasnt vallhalla waiting for him. He died for the people he cared for.
-
Nux's character arc was absolutely classic.
-
Nux's final "Witness me" wasn't that of a glory cry, as he and the other war boys did in the beginning of the film. It was his way of saying farewell to that red-headed girl, and wishing her the best.
-
In the end, he did get his wish to drive the War Rig. Drove that thing straight to the gates of Valhalla
-
Sadly, today, Immortan Joe’s actor has passed away. It’s a sad day.
-
2:28 That fucking music. The same piece of music when Nux first witnessed the gigastorm swallowing a car, when he exclaimed "What a day, what a lovely day!" The same music when he was "blessed" by Immortan Joe. We all know what he had to do when this moment came. He toppled a tyrant and saved innocent lives. He finally got his wish. He died historic on the fury road.
-
3:07 I love how the crashing rig sounds like a lion letting out its final roar.
-
I'm sorry, but those last two lines are just too damn perfect! That initial "witness me," by Nux, specifically pointing at the girl, where that line has completely changed meaning for him. It's no longer about him martyring himself so much as it is about him asking her to remember him. It's contrasted perfectly with that "Witness me!" by the bad dude, who's still imbued with this rage, and this desire to martyr himself in hope of reaching the afterlife.
-
2:49 by Norse lore she was pulling his spirit with her. His Valkyrie.
-
One thing I love here is that after Nux says, "Witness me," rather than Capable screaming, "WITNESS!," like a War Boy, she makes a gesture symbolizing that she's taking his soul with her. To me it feels like a way better alternative.
-
Witness me... That moment when you realize the most important half of your heart is inside another person's chest and no one is going to stop you from saving that half, no matter what society, ideology, or others say. Inside that chest you will really live forever.
-
The only thing in this scene sadder than Nux's death, was the death of the War Rig. It became a character on it's own and something that was with us through the whole movie and something we grew to know.
-
Even if they had gotten Nux across, he would have soon died from his neck tumors. This way he not only got a historic death on the fury road, but he actually sacrificed his life for something that mattered. Had he not flipped the rig, the war party would have caught them at the citadel and killed them, and a new despot would have taken over. Nux's sacrifice made it so the Citadel could become a new green place of hope. So in my mind, Joe is dead and in hell, while Nux is one who truly earned his place in Valhalla.
-
The way Rictus lifting the engine then shouting his name while on fire is absolutely the perfect Furious antagonist here.
-
the look of Nux really saddened me.he truly died historic on the fury road...🔥💯
-
Seeing that big rig flip is badass and sad at the same time
-
After all the build up, watching that breather got ripped off is so satisfying
-
Six Oscars? Yeah, sounds about right.

Brother Nux, that is not Valhalla's gates after what you have done. No chrome folderol for what we witness here. True silver and mother of pearl for your ride in the race eternal. Drop the clutch and shine on.
