I love the β€œold phone book” πŸ“– description β€πŸ˜‚β€β€¦ always glad to hear others describe something that is a memory/moment etc. while reviewing Watch City’s β€œNone of your business”… all I could think of was a base essence of Fruit Loops πŸ˜…. Cheers and Happy Sipping, Z~
  • I got a chuckle over the phone book reference lol I certainly remember those big outfits! We still have one, tho it's a lot smaller than they used to be. Very nice medico and boy that churchwarden stem really does something for that pipe πŸ‘

Good to see Brian Dennehy again even if it's on a smaller screen. Loved him in Rambo.

Ahhhh Velvet in a medico! Man after my heart. So the toppings are brown sugar and licorice. Now the older iteration at times I would get a boozey taste occasionally but the new STG version is def more brown sugar forward and licorice finish with cocoa undertones and a β€œmusty note” that comes in and out that I just love. There is also a tad cherry you can pick up if smoked slow. My wife loves the roomnote of Velvet. Consistently says it’s the best. The only thing that has rivaled it recently is Cherry smash by Boswell. Keep smoking it in diffeeent pipes to see which one sings with it. Although I must admit velvet tends to shine in smaller bowls most often. 😊
  • Hello Jesse These long shank , light and small pipes are my favorite pipes. I live in EU and the only US codger blend I’ve tried is Half&Half. Good to see you! Silviu 🀝

Fun to try all the different blends. The tastes are just all over the place. Happy smokes
  • Love the way you research tobacco beforehand. I am fairly confident with all the codger blends, they have been around and are still available...blends that have lasted.

Great video! Yellow pages comment made me laugh. I also had a pouch of velvet I had yet to try. So after watching I went outside and had some. I very much enjoyed. No yellow pages but I got some cocoa, lots of stone fruit, pomegranate/apple. Happy piping and thanks for the inspiration.
  • Thanks for promoting new channels. I recently got over 100 because of people like yourself.

Old phone book, I know exactly the smell! Maybe the step brother blend to Haunted Bookshop? πŸ˜‚ Also, those prince shapes are quite nice there Jes.

First time watching one of your videos. Enjoyed it very much. You have some nice pipes. And, yes, I've has some favorable surprises and some disasters with estate pipes on ebay, but generally OK.
  • Ha! Never heard Velvet described as smelling like a phonebook! One of my top 5 tobaccos for sure.
  • Hi Jes, the pipe discoloration on your pipe is in the paint. This is because the head is small and when you light your pipe, combustion takes place at the head. and if I'm very honest this is quite normal, I have the same pipe, only my stem is different. so the only way to get rid of this is to sand the pipe and repaint it or oil it and polish it. I hope this information is useful to you... οΏΌ

Nice pipes good job with the new stem. I did sorta the same thing. I bought a pouch of half and half at my cigar store. Didn’t think I’d like it but I do. Keep on trying baccy I’ve only had a few I didn’t like πŸ‘
