Inherent Homes is building 2 story modular homes and handling the entire process from start to finish including land. I have been interested in single section (per floor) two story modulars for some time now so it was awesome to be able to get a tour. Inherent is located in Chicago, building over 30 homes per year and has a blueprint to replicate their process in other areas. Watch to learn about Inherent Homes, a modular builder that handles every step of the build process.

This is the best yet. Someone who’s actually working to solve the social problems not just the housing problem. Agree would be nice to also see a one floor option for elderly & wheelchair accessible.

ALL American major cities need these. Excellent.

OMG this is my thesis topic for graduate school. I’m literally writing about modular construction and tiny homes to spur affordable housing. I need to research them, sounds like a great company!

  • This is the style of modular home video that I enjoy the most- a guided tour.

Thank you. I lived in Chicago for many years. It’s great to see a company whose products are more than a house but a wholistic approach to neighborhood development and improvement from within the same area. Awesome!

Great interview. One of my favorites you've done. The homes are great, and the founder has marvelous energy and vision. Such an amazing business model, that can do so much good for the new home owners, and at the same time for so many in the community. Brilliant!
  • That was very nice! Thank you for that last minute visit! And for helping us understand what "affordable" actually means.

I'm impressed with this young fellow, I was raised in Chicago, this is good to know
  • Thank you for going to Chicago and featuring Inherent Homes showing that people are trying to improve housing and family living in major cities.

Very nice, especially for the real world and the tight, financially-stressed, urban setting. These are the “best uses” of prefab, where all the advantages come into play. Contrast the wide-frontage ADUs with huge window walls for wealthy buyers who have huge lots. These narrow units can fit most any American urban environment.

Very cool. The thing I love about Chicago are the alleys - no snout houses or garbage cans out in front of the houses.

Outstanding. This is that rare YT vid that's actually "important".
