Actually what was done:
- assembled CPU, motherboard, hard drive, CD-rom drive and floppy drive
- checked to see if booted
- realized would hang during HDD detection, because HDD is too large (BIOS supported max 32 GB)
- manually created a DOS utility disk for flashing newer BIOS (firmware)
- flashed the firmware
- ran memory test

And all the while doing this, my trademark: INCOHERENT RAMBLING!
