It’s good to see that this video included the FULL history of excal, including dark sector’s role in birthing warframe was a great call, good stuff
  • Ah, Excalibur. My second most used frame, beaten only by... Excalibur Umbra. I've always loved Excalibur. He doesn't need crazy builds, special gauges, tap/hold mechanics, or even Helminth stuff. He just works. And the raw power of Exalted Blade is something that will never get old.
  • Umbra's my main. Before that, it was regular Excal, with the Avalon Helm and this really shitty blue and yellow scheme from the default colour palette. Since then, Umbra has taught me a bunch of things since I started playing in 2021. - The enemies cannot sound an alarm in an Exterminate mission if there are no enemies to sound an alarm in an Exterminate mission. - I am emotionally attached to him. - Sword go *FWOZZH*. - He can go toe to toe with the Sun when both of you are listening to Bury the Light. - He could probably outshine the Sun. Then again, that's why we have Vauban. (Turns Bloom to 100%) - I have spent more Formas on his Exalted than Umbra himself. - If him, Baruuk, Ivara, Banshee and Equinox got into a bar fight with an enemy faction, no would be able to see, hear or sense anything happening. Except for the bartender Mesa. She's blindfolded and wants to kick them out. - His Radial Javelin helps me apply a slash proc onto enemies, then prime with a Nukor and press 'E'. Then my computer decides to render frames at the speed of molasses. - Hearing his Radial Howl is both saddening and awesome. - He has influenced my playstyle of "Go dick first into enemies and break everything else. Including them." - Finally, he's so simple, so fun and with enough build crafting, so good. I've only used his Chromatic Blade, but once my exams are done, I will make a full positive Excal with Furious Jav and Chromatic. Yes. I like funny numbers on my 15-inch screen. I'll never see them, but I know they're there. TL;DR: I love him to bits. If I ever get Baruuk, they'll be my two mains. Do I like yeeting things to the moon with my second melee? Yes. Do like turning my brain off and on again to use these two frames? Absolutely. Will they keep me playing as the completely rash and moronic blasphemer of safety? You can bet your house on it. P.S., Sorry if this is too long. It's late and I had very little to eat and a lot to drink, LMAO. Be well, all. : D
  • @motivateddad
I love the starter frames in the opening cinematic. Volt got Lightning Powers. Mag got Gravity Power. And Excalibur out there with a bow and a sword.
  • @Vote4Drizzt
What I love about the Founders thing is that it gives folks who have kept up with the game over time with a little thing to show off that's enviable but not disheartening for folks that missed the boat. It's fun strutting out my Excal Prime and getting comments on it, but I have hated games before which gave old players huge numeric advantages that new players cannot access. It saddles rookies with a permanent feeling of inferiority. In Warframe you just get a little piece of gear that shows you were here when it started and you believed in it.

Some notes: The Proto(-Armor) skins for Excaliber and the Glaive (which have in-game lore that contains another reference to the time of Digital Extreme's previous successful game) are not the only remnants of Warframe's spiritual predecessor; there is a special skin for Nyx called "Nemesis", which makes her look like the recurring boss of the same name from Dark Sector, who had a lot of the same abilities as Nyx. The fact that Nyx is female is a nod to the big reveal of Nemesis's true identity. There is also the in-game lore that Earth had to be abandoned at some point due to a virus that horribly mutated most of the organic life there, which is similar to (but not exactly the same as) the virus that Hayden was trying to stop the spread of in Dark Sector. Finally, standing special missions that are harder, but offer higher rewards, are called "Dark Sector missions".
  • The thing I love about warframe is that it just let's you get stronger. No limits no barriers. Just you at your own pace. Excalibur, I'd say, is a product of that style
  • As some of the rare few that enjoyed Dark Sector, I wish we could have an Eternalism centric quest related to Dark Sector. But apparently DE can't do it due to them losing the rights to it or something. Still, it would be great to have a narrative connection to Warframe. It'd drive us lore junkies nuts if that ever happens.
  • You're the only Warframe Youtuber I enjoy long videos from. I respect your discipline. Your Volt and Gauss videos convinced me to buy them today 😂
  • I still remember when Exalted Blade was just reworked and they added in the Chroma blade augment for it. Excalibur became truly one of the most powerful warframes scaling well into the level 150+ enemies
  • As an Excal main since before Umbra, and a pioneer of the “Excal CAN do end-game/Steel Path/long Kuva Survival” build, it was really nice to have this kind of vid to explain him to my brother who just started the game. Thanks for this vid!
  • I main Umbra and Gauss. This video absolutely pleases me. This old boy was what made me stay in this game since 2015. The only thing I miss is the original Etherial Exalted Blade skin. It looked way better than current day skins like Tree Branch(normal Ex) or mishaped Persian Blade(Umbra). Once more, thank you for telling people more about this amazing Warframe. The Warframe that flied before Zephir even grew her Feathers, and the Warframe that had no real Prime(Founders crap doesn't count) for 5 years since his(and the game's) release.
  • Umbra's story kind of tells you the horror that is Warframe. It basically hints that the Warframes aren't just biomechanical suits but actual people. Adults, in fact. If Tennos were the children of the Void, Warframes are the adults of the non-Void, so to speak. I'm not quite sure if that is by design but I find it poetic that the lore ended up like that. How the kids pilot the adults in a world that they are no longer a part of (since they've adapted to the void).
  • I watched all of your Warframe videos and all I can say is that you're definitely one of the best Warframe creators out there.
  • Just want to say that I got into Warframe about a month ago and I'm MR11 at the moment. Having content like this is really awesome to help catch me up on what's happened and it's very entertaining to watch! The only thing I'd add is maybe timestamps on the video so if people lose their place, it's easy to find? Otherwise I love these videos, keep them coming!
  • @evollove3522
Nice to see these pseudo-video essay type videos on the game, always been a fan of those. Really in depth explanation of the context and history as well as the warframe abilities. Can't believe how few have subscribed I know I sure did cuz i don't wanna miss a single vid. Hope you continue your growth.
  • @Jakman01
Seeing the old UI as a beta player unlocked core memories of me and my friend spending ungodly amount of hours grinding and getting stuck in the terrain. But I don’t regret a single penny or minute spent. But man.. this was great going down the nostalgia path. Excellent work here, def earned a sub from me. I don’t play Warframe anymore but it’s lovely to see that the community remains just as passionate as when I left.
  • @Jackson...
Man, I don't know many other people making more "history of" type videos. With your skill, it shouldn't be long before you absolutely blow up in the warframe community, and I can't wait.
