EASY 2-Ingredient Naan Recipe | The Best Homemade Garlic Naan Recipe

Published 2020-12-10
Hello everyone! Welcome to my channel! Naan is the perfect accompaniment to any curry! Here's my easy recipe!

🌟TODAY'S RECIPE:
Ingredients
For the naan dough:
2 1/2 cups self rising flour
** to make your own self-rising flour, take 2 cups of all-purpose flour and add 1 teaspoon of baking powder (2:1 ratio)
1 1/2 cups + 2 tsp yogurt
Pinch of salt (optional)

For garlic butter:
3 tbsp butter, melted
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 tsp cilantro, finely chopped
Pinch of salt

Method:
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and yogurt together. Knead the dough till it forms a soft ball. Let rest for 5-10 mins.
- Divide the dough into 6 balls.
- Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough balls on a clean kitchen counter surface with flour sprinkled over it. This dough will make 6 naans. See video for how I rolled them out.
- Heat some oil in a nonstick pan (or flat griddle). Cook the naan on one side, once bubbles form, it is time to turn and cook on the other side till you see golden brown color on them.
- Remove from pan and serve plain as is.
- Mix the cilantro and garlic into the melted butter to make the garlic butter. Brush lightly on the naan if you want to make garlic naan.
- Serve hot with your favorite curry dish!

  • After many of you commented that this is a clickbait video and it's not 2 ingredients, I wanted to clear up some things. Firstly as mentioned in the video, self rising flour and yogurt are 2 ingredients. Secondly as mentioned in the video several times, all the other ingredients are optional. Meaning you have the option to not use them to make these naans. Thirdly, any more comments like that will be deleted that imply that this is a clickbait video and that I don't know how to count my ingredients. I work very hard for each video, and I'm the last person to create a title just for views or likes. I don't have a reason to do clickbait titles as you can see on the hundreds of other videos I've done. If I was so eager for views with no real content, I would not be doing this. I started my channel out of passion, not because I wanted attention. Thank you to all who have genuinely supported me or this video. But I won't be tolerating people who think of me negatively or tell me something I did when I did not. Thank you for understanding. 💜

Store bought Naan bread is so pricey. So happy to find your simple and affordable recipe. I LOVE Garlic Naan. Thanks for sharing!
  • I found that when I don't want to grill all of the dough, I took a clean kitchen towel, (not the paper kind) & I moistened it w/water, squeezed out the excess, wrapped it around the raw dough, placed it into a zip lock bag, squeezed out all of the air then zipped it closed, the next evening it worked great. I was even able to get a 3rd day from it. I live alone, so this really works out great for me w/your recipe. I just wanted to share that w/you & other's who might also be single. There's nothing better than fresh cooked bread! ❤ ThankQ again, Love.

I was just about to buy some naan at the store and it was 3.45 for three pieces. I knew I would find a recipe that was much cheaper to make. Thank you!
  • WoW, I never knew how easy naan is to make at home. I don't need to drive 4 hours to the Bay Area for naan anymore. Now to wrap that naan around some fresh hot juicy tandoori or even a Costco roasted chicken... mmmmm.... my mouth is watering now. 💖

Thank you so much. I'm a busy dental student so it's so nice to see a simple, easy recipe for one of my favorite breads when I don't have the time to invest into making yeast breads. The people complaining probably don't even have basic spices in their cabinet so don't pay them any attention!
  • @territodude
Great video, quality audio, well explained. Don't listen to those click bait fools that just want to find problems that do not exist!
  • @ticzone34
Thank you for this naan recipe!!! It really is 2 ingriedents! Self rising flour and yougurt! Anything more than that is an option.
  • I used to use this ingredient as a pizza dough before but I didn’t know it’s a naan! This is super nice. Thank you for your share the recipe.🙏🏼
  • Self-rising flour: replace 1 tsp of each cup of flour with a tsp of baking powder. So for this recipe: 2.5 c flour, remove 5 tsp flour, add 5 tsp baking powder.

What a great recipe, We love garlic naan at our home, now I can make it to go with all my Indian Food I make. I learned for a Beautiful Lady who lived next door to me. She never spoke English but we understood each other. Her husband translated for us. I loved her so much. What a great cook she was.. Thank you...
