A BRAZILIAN family have taken the trend for exotic pets to new extremes. Not content with the standard pooch or moggy, the Borges brood have been sharing their home with a pack of SEVEN tigers. Aryas Borges, began his love affair with tigers when he found two of the big cats living in a bad state at a circus -- and decided to bring them home. His daughters Nayara, 20, Uyara, 23, and Deusanira, 24, grew up sharing their meals, beds and playtime with the fully-grown predators and walking them on a leash. And Nayara, a real-life female Tarzan, regularly hops into the family swimming pool to take a dip with her furry friends. After his success with the rescue tigers, Ary started breeding them, and the tigers still have the run of the house at the Borges family home in Maringa. The family have forged an incredible bond with the tigers after living under the same roof for so long.

They can pretend they are comfortable and relaxed around the tigers all they want, but it's obvious they are scared to make a wrong move.

People underestimate how powerful wild animals are. A Siberian tiger can jump up to 16 feet in the air and runs up to 40 mph. One strike of its claw can take a head off. Even if the tiger wants to kiss you on the face his tongue is so sharp like sandpaper. When he licks you it will leave a red mark on your skin. If even my domesticated pet cat can sometimes grab my hand and bite me then imagine what a tiger can do in a split of a second. He is not domesticated and will always be wild. That family is risking their lives everyday.

I hope someone reads this. Update to the story: These tigers have had a very sad end. Ary, who owned and cared for these tigers along with his family, had all the documentation and authorizations from IBAMA (the governmental institution that handles wild life here in Brazil). One day, this same institution told Ary that he had to hand these tigers over to local zoos. Now all these tigers are dead (all 7). You can blame IBAMA for that. Ary and his family moved to Colombia, where he works as a trainer and consultant for wild life.

This was so freaking irresponsible. You can clearly see the nervosity of the family, that girl jumped away like a scared rabbit. Keeping a bunch of predators in the house with your family, one of which is a small child? That guy is insane.
