    1. Stetsons hats first went to the Army in 1885. It was after introduction into the Army when the hats became popular with civilians. Before the Stetson, bolers and sombreros were the hats of the Old West. 2. There was very little beer in the Old West. Because it was carbonated, it did not travel well over the rough terrain and could spoil in desert heat.

    The Bloody Benders actually lived in Cherryvale, KS. In Montgomery county. 21 miles up the road from me. The current owner of the property has an archeological dig ongoing as I type.

  • Two groups facing each other at close range? 30 seconds is an eternity (literally for 3 of the combatants) cowboy hats? a cursory look at old photos show that every style hat imaginable was pressed into service The civil war.. PTSD on the grandest of scales... They (especially dispossessed southerners) were almost emotionally dead and acted that way.

  • I see that I am not the only one to ask why you have pictures of things completely unrelated to the topic, such as the women in India and the cape buffalo in Africa. There is a huge difference between cape buffalo and American bison.
