"My dad doing local car commercials, and not for the money. Just so he could keep the car..." That's some heavy shit, man.
  • Paul didn’t just cry because of Cody thanking him for helping his family and father when they were in need, but he was crying because Dusty was the one who taught Paul how to cut immaculate promos. I think sometimes we forget wrestling can give us emotional and real moments like this, because they rarely happen. But when it does, it’s magical.
  • 38 years of watching wrestling now and never seen Paul speechless like that
  • @rhombo323
5:39 when Cody says "the year was 2000" and the camera pans to Paul... Paul knew exactly whatbwas happening. You can see him get a lump in his throat and have to swallow the emotion. Real shit. The industry will be forever changed when your day is finally done. Much respect to you sir.
  • there was nothing fake about those tears. Heyman is an absolute gift to the wrestling industry.
  • @JebusMatoi
It's gonna be a sad day when Heyman eventually retires.

I just love how Cody carries himself now that he's in the spot he always deserved
  • At this moment, Paul isn't a character. He is a real person in that ring, with his emotions seen by everyone. This promo is one reminder why I love pro-wrestling/sports entertainment so much. Kudos to both men. This segment is one of my favorites now.
  • Something just feels right about seeing Paul get his flowers
  • @Damaged7
This is a beautiful segment. You do not expect to see Paul crying and to see him show real emotion in the ring, even at the possible detriment to his character, is amazing.
  • Seeing Heyman in that emotional state just hits differently
  • @DarioDAversa
This was genuine. Right in the feels. Paul Heyman is an amazing pro. He got caught by the emotions, but he still managed to flip a fantastic promo right after.
  • Y'all notice how Heyman doesnt have an entrance theme but he doesn't need one either lol.
  • This one gave me chills. To hear that ECW chant in 2023 & to know that people still remember... Just wow. For someone who lived through it and loved it, I miss it a little bit more & remember it a little more fondly every year. But ECW still doesn't get the credit and love it deserves.

Paul is something else. When I saw him live people really listened, no chants no booing, it was almost weird how quiet it was. just in awe at one of the best talkers in the business
  • @gustavojrangel
The way Cody's voice cracks when telling the ECW story lets you know this was for real. Heyman has said it himself, he loved Dusty
  • @mahad813
Never seen someone leave Paul Heyman speechless and tearful like Cody Rhodes has
  • @rickylyon3846
I like this segment and I hope more are to come between Paul Heyman and Cody Rhodes. Funny thing is, Paul Heyman always credit Dusty Rhodes for teaching him how to do good promos. So him telling Cody "Wow, you're good!" Is like Darth Vader telling Luke Skywalker "I see Obiwan thought you well".
  • It's always nice to see wrestling get real... Like really real. The emotion in Paul's face, hearing Cody's voice crack... It's heartwarming.
  • Paul heyman being speechless for those seconds is a timeless moment in itself
