After viewing this I watched your update video........and wept tears as the old lady expected you to take money from her pension for the food, she just couldn't believe it was all free for her. I hope someone helps fix her house and it's essential people look in on her regularly to make sure she's ok. Big Love from an old man in Britain!

I also lived in backwoods or bush Without piped in water. My heat and cooking source a wood stove. I had To chop tree trunks but usually took the fell trees, they needed to be seasoned before burning. I had to make logs to split with an axe. I had a cold rapid creek closeby it was my source of water. I fished for trout and crayfish mainly ate Legumes and homemade pastas. I grew my vegetables and luckily had wild fruit bushes and nut trees. It was my utopia. Decades past i got too slow as i aged. Always cold, my last winter there i couldn't warm up i was freezing..so i put my cabin on the market and moved to a tiny town. I don't regret anything. Iam very grateful to be alive !

This breaks my heart, She's a friendly and welcoming woman. I hope you visit her again and bring some foods and blankets for her. I feel sad and angry about what her only daughter did to her,how could she do that to her mom. In some respects she has a beautiful, peaceful natural life...most enviable in some ways..if only she had a new little house nearby, that would keep her warm, dry and safe.. and regular visitors with help, I'm sure she would love that...I cannot even imagine how she lives like this..i wish i could help her...i definitely would not have abandoned my mother this way
