Giving Bruce Wayne a happy ending as opposed to having him killed off, to me, feels like Chris Nolan is thanking his fans for sticking with him throughout the entire trilogy.

One of the best endings to a movie/trilogy ever. Nolan is truly a master of story-telling.

Gordons face during the statue unveiling says it all. He's pissed because the city always rejected Batman and now only after he's gone are they accepting that he did good for them.

The genuine smile on Gordon’s face, the relief on Alfred’s face, THE MUSIC!!! Greatest trilogy ever, and a damn fine ending.

I love that Selena also smiled at the end. Bruce probably kept tabs on Alfred and knew that eventually, once Lucius, Jim and Robin had realized that he wasn't dead, word would get to Alfred it would prompt him to resume his quest from decades earlier, going back to that cafe in Venice. Bruce undoubtedly told Selena about this. She didnt even have to turn to see Alfred. She saw Bruce's reaction, and she just knew. I love that tiny detail. I'd like to think that in time, Bruce and Alfred would have resumed contact with each other. But the whole point of the silent meeting in Venice was so that they wouldn't have to...that Alfred would know he was happy and would never have to return to Gotham.

I love the subtle ways that Bruce showed people he was still alive, Leading Robin to the cave(ok that wasn’t so subtle), the nod to Alfred in Venice, but my favorite was repairing the Bat signal. I really like how Gordon notices it out of the corner of his eye, runs his hand over it and looks around hoping to see the Batman once more.

I see a lot of love for Nolan and not enough for Zimmer. He's the man!!!

Bruce began the trilogy, honouring his parents by becoming Batman. He ends the trilogy honouring Alfred, by putting aside his guilt and living a happy life. I love that these movies gave Alfred a win.

It's no small irony that the greatest superhero ever (DC or Marvel) has no superpowers whatsoever.

To see Bruce Wayne smiling and happy at the end... Gets me every time. Such a beautiful scene.

That smile on Gordon's face when he looks around for Bruce, 😭😭

Amazing trilogies deserves a beautiful ending and Rises didn't disappoint

Christopher Nolan is the greatest director of this generation.
  • This is a thing about batman. He's not strong like superman, fast like flash, can't swim like Aquaman, still is one of the most iconic heroes. So is the irony of one of the best superheroes of dc.
  • An astonishing conclusion to the series!!! Love the moment where Alfred and Bruce look at each other from across the tables in the cafe. They don't speak a word yet Alfred is proud to see that Bruce has finally found peace. I also love how Gotham is left in Blake's hands. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES may not reach the levels of the first two films, but it was the perfect ending to Nolan's masterpiece, THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY!

Gordon like a happy child seeing the bat signal restored was great to see. Nolan is a genius.
