  • I think it is a shame that we are only learning about these gifted black women 50 years after the fact! I grew up in the 50s and 60s and knew nothing about these women.

This film is on my list of " i could watch it over and over". I know its dramatised but it should be shown in schools.

I have respect for her and the way she handled herself answering the questions

She was a very intelligent woman. Much more intelligent than most of the people she worked with/for.

I'm 59 going on 60 this month. I'm white. I live in the South. I watched this movie and loved it. I loved this scene. It showed two things. First, how intelligent people are, not just Kat, but also her boss. Secondly, how painful the lives of those who lived as adults in those times. I was 'taught' the N word. From people like my grandfather and his sons, my step-uncles. If I never met him or that portion of my family, I stand here now and wonder how my view on life and my world around me might be different. I have a lot of black coworkers and even had them as a boss or supervisors in the military. I learned a real truth then. These men are really no different than me. They simply had a different path through life that I had. Funny, how a 2 hour movie can still produce such discussions. Reach down, examine, and let's talk.

I enjoyed the film but the book is so much better because it tells the wider story.

I ABSOLUTELY ❤ THIS MOVIE. I ❤ HER AS KATHERINE GOBLE/JOHNSON. I ❤ KATHERINE JOHNSON. What really pisses me off about this movie+real life is John Glenn NEVER recognized her to America and the world and what she did. Do you have any idea how much that could have/would have improved race relations back then??
  • @carriida1313
    Very intelligent and truthful 🙌💪👏🙏

I love that answer, "I held it up to the light.". That was a great job of redaction! He had told her to look beyond, and she did. I would love to have her brain. I struggled with math and science my entire life. My brain just doesn't work that way. I'm a words person, I am a concepts person. I'm not sure exactly what I am, but I do know that math and science don't fit into my brain. My physics professor told me that I was very intelligent person and that there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to grasp the concepts. Anyway, I've made this all about me, but I do have to admit that I'm envious of her scientific brain. I love science, I just can't understand it beyond a certain point. My brain just will not go there. I guess we all have different strengths, and it obviously has nothing to do with sex or race.
