Hey Guys!
I was just thinking about my Dad, even though it’s Mother’s Day, and how my Mom and I reminisce about him sometimes, and swap stories and anecdotes about him. ☺️
Just thought I’d share a short video with you guys. My gift to you for Mother’s Day. I wish all the Mothers of the world, a safe and happy Mother’s Day (especially if you ride with the G-squad 😉).

Listen to his music everyday, best gig I ever went to was his show in Manchester UK in 2010. He seemed such cool guy as well as an amazing performer

Beautiful Gia, thank you for this. yes his fro was on point then ☝🏽❤️. Years later he still loved to get his hair washed and conditioned 😘 lots of gorgeous grey (and less fro tho. 🤗) We’d do Mother’s Day at Bobbies he always bought her a dozen red roses with extra baby’s breath. Anytime we went the flowers too not just Mother’s Day. Florist trips to 145th and broadway Harlem were a regular thing. And cool notes with sweet gems written on them.

..Head full of greys, yet it was so lush & thick, like broccoli 🥦 ..well, more like cauliflower by 2010 😀
  • Gia first of all i love what you do and thank you very much for share it. i wonder if you can make a video talking about your dad's spoken word "the getho code- dot dot di di dot dot dash" and please give us more context i think its just incredible. but i know i am bias you know i love every thing your dad did. i am born in new york but also have 2 other citizenships . venezuelan (lived in caracas for over 10 years) and chilean (lived in santiago for over 10 years) so. i am very much in touch with what happened in the island of cuba and also very aware to what happen in chile to Salvador Allende. but if you could please give us a word on that poem on that set he did. its mind blowing to me. not that i am surprise he knew all those things. i happen to lived in Harlem for 2 years and half. in 128 and malcolm. and i met many afro-american jamaican-americans haiti-americans that will share amazing stories with me about chile. about the che guevara etc. so i am not surprise that this type of knowledge was in the air at that time. is just that i would love to hear from you on this topic did your dad talk about this things ?. i will leave the link for that rare yet incredible spoken word - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZuP-7UI0Xo if you use whatsaap maybe we can talk i would love for you to come to charleston sc for the inauguration of the "international african american museum " wich will take place around january 2023. i moved here to ch. sc. almost 2 years ago. and i am very nostlagic and missing so much the city of newyork. this is my first time in the south and its impacting me very much. i still dont know if its for good or not. but i have find a voice in you , a voice that gives me a peaceful feeling a knowledgeful feeling a home feeling. and that last one, means infinity. thanks again for your videos.
