The ability to pluck up the courage to sincerely apologize is one of the most important skills you'll learn in life—and it especially comes in handy with people you love.

Of course, apologizing can be terrifying. It's the kind of thing you build up into a huge deal, the kind of thing you lose sleep over and ... perhaps continue to put off. We all do. This week, we took a viewer suggestion from SpiloSpud. We're going to walk you through that difficult, awkward, sweaty moment when you take a deep breath and say... "I'm sorry."

    The person who will read this, if you said sorry, and the person doesn't forgive you, well think about how the person would feel if you didn't say sorry, so if the person doesn't forgive you, atleast the person knows that you said sorry, okay? So please, don't feel bad about yourself😊

    I tend to be a very nice person, but sometimes I do stupid things like saying something I shouldn't to someone even when they don't really deserve. I know how to love and be caring but I know how to hurt people and I do it so deeply! Now I'm trying to learn to apologize and learning with my mistakes... I feel so bad and the remorse is something terrible;

    I said something extremely stupid as a joke to my classmate over text, and they responded back with "Shut up, I'm going through something personal." When I read this, I felt so bad, I didn't even know how to apologize back to them. I ended up spending the whole day trashing myself for doing something so stupid. Thank you for this video, I really hope I can build up the courage to apologize to them.
  • To be honest I get so tired of hearing "sorry" from people who don't mean it. I have a friend who blows up my phone non stop, then when I confront him about it, he says sorry then goes back to the same behavior. He leaves voicemails every time he calls and says "Sorry for blowing up you phone" but he keeps doing it. It gets tiring. Sometimes sorry won't make things how they were. Also, a note to add: forgiveness doesn't mean that the person will want to stay friends, lovers, etc. Forgiveness means not letting what happened have power over you. Then you move on with your life :)

    I have really low-self esteem and I had a really hard time apologizing when I was younger. I'd never apologize to anything and I hated fighting with people. Now a days I still hate fighting but I'm never really careful with what I say. I know I hurt people often and apologizing makes me uncomfortable and nervous. Thank you for making this video. I want to be the best person I can be! <3
  • This works a lot, I just apologized this morning. Thank you very much! For y'all that's currently planning to apologize, good luck!

    People, especially on social media, think that apologizing is so easy, but it really isn't. Apologizing isn't simply just swallowing your pride and taking accountability. That's the easy part. What makes apologizing so scary and difficult is that taking accountability requires you to be vulnerable in a really tense situation while knowing that you're in the wrong. It's basically opening your heart at gunpoint. That's what apologizing, especially when you've done something really bad.

    1. Firstly apologize. For example: I sincerely apologize for... 2. Address what you are apologizing for 3. Don't make excuses 4. Be honest, if others find out you were lying they might not trust you again. 5. Take full responsibility 6. Try to understand the persons u hurt feelings. Also express your own feelings. 7. Add ''I hope I can things between us'' or ''I hope you can forgive me'' 8. Don't play the victim 9. Learn from your mistake. Promise the other person that you'll do better in the future 10. Write down the apology before saying it. 11. Imagine that youre the person that was the victim, if the person was saying the apology that you made how would u feel? How would they feel? If the apology doesn't seem sincere enough change it up a bit. 12. Give the person some time to accept it. They might not be ready. Here is an example of a good apology I guess?? - Hello, I sincerely apologize for hurting you and saying mean things. I should have never said that. I can imagine how you feel, I feel horrible for saying mean things right to your face without thinking about it. The things I said before are not true, you're an again guess person. I'm terribly sorry once again. I made sure to understand my mistake and learn from it, I'll be more thoughtful in the future. Thank you for helping me realize and learn from my mistakes, I appreciate it. I do agree that I was wrong with my behaviour, I hope you can forgive me. If you're falsely accussed of something remember that you still have to apologize and be honest. Address the situation from your side and collect proofs if you're able to.
